Insider-trading indictment involving Bloomberg News stories before their publishing

Are you sure? "Between 2015 and 2020, Mr. Peltz and his co-conspirators obtained non-public information about publicly traded companies from a variety of sources, including a corporate insider and a reporter at a financial news organization." "Mr. Peltz regularly used his relationship with the...

Cattle Rancher loses $200M of Tyson's Money Trading Futures

Probably got him drunk on Bourbon the moment he stepped off the plane. Wouldn't be surprised if the inspector was involved too. "I trust you Mr. Rancher, let's go to the bar early"

    Scalping options questions?

I do scalp with options (primarily for the high leverage). Not sure about non US markets, but all US traded options can be sold back to market makers (unless the position moved so far against you that the bid price is $.01

Insider-trading indictment involving Bloomberg News stories before their publishing

I wonder what would happen if instead of leaking the news to Bloomberg, he instead anonymously posted it online to forums like 4chan and reddit. Then only enter his position minutes after posting the information. Within a few hours news sites would probably pick up the info and have the same...

Stocks make more money while asleep then awake

Buying at close and selling at open the next day is a common strategy. There's a lot of published research on overnight price movement vs. intraday.

    Tradovate EPIC FAIL

AMP did not have any problem with CQG, and they also have advanced orders like OCO, brackets, etc. The last time AMP had a problem with CQG was 3/16, and they are typically pretty proactive with the communication. Here is the last CQG failure they sent out: CQG just provided update (Below) -...

Cattle Rancher loses $200M of Tyson's Money Trading Futures

Amazing that he was able to get away with it for so many years. Considering that the cattle were supposed to be owned by Tyson, and they were only being managed by the rancher, how did Tyson not perform at least an annual audit where they send a person to see the cattle? 200,000 fake cattle...

Does it make sense to look beyond 15 minutes?

There's trends for the hour (short channels), trends for the day, trends for the week, and longer term monthly trends. All depends on what timeframe you're trading. If you're looking to get in and out of a trade within minutes, then looking at more than 15 minutes wouldn't make sense.

Lightspeed Order Flow Finra Violation Dissappointment, Suggestions?

As others have pointed out, IB and TWS are one of the best. But if you want to get even better fills and less slippage (especially true for automated trading), running your software from a server that is either colocated with your broker/exchange, or at least located in the same city is...

Best brokerages for active algorithmic trading

I'm not sure about which brokers have the best commission for your high volume, but for servers I can recommend www.ninjamobiletrader.com They are 1 ms away from CME and broker/clearing firms in Chicago. I believe they also have servers in NY too with low latency below what you're looking for.

I have an idea. How can I implement it?

Personally I do something similar (not your strategy, but I also scan the market everyday and automatically buy all instruments that meet my criteria in the quantities based on my risk management, and sell throughout the day or next couple of days based on programmed exit criteria). From your...

I am suspicious of this rally

The correction will come when the fed stops it's direct asset purchase programs. But in the long term I strongly believe asset price inflation will continue to drive equity markets higher. Unlike Japan, the USA has a lot of different factors going for it (such as immigration and sharing a...

Bill Gates warns of next pandemic

So much hate for Bill Gates. Does anyone seriously believe he has a lab coat doing medical research? More likely he is the financier and spokesman. No one cares about the CEO of Pfizer (he was a veterinarian)

Risk management mistakes associated with Bill Hwang's blow-up

Wonder hope much revenue was attributed to Bill Hwang's business. Charge enough for the swaps and you can probably make your risk department look the other way during some red flags.

    NQ & ES liquidity

Trading on servers located close to your broker and exchange helps with fills and slippage. <1ms connections can make a big difference versus being in Europe/Asia/Australia and have >250ms latency. I'd recommend checking out www.ninjamobiletrader.com and www.speedytradingservers.com for...
