What makes you think earnings have anything to do with stock movements right now, eh chap?

The opposite of bear is not bull, it is apathetic. I am a retired bear. I could give a sh*t for what the banks are doing, it's all essentially a lie anyways. I am going to quit questioning why the market rallies on bad news. I am going to play it as it goes. Preferably swinging with...

Port1385 says to "double down" in your 3x inverse positions!!!

I'm not disagreeing with your basic assumption that we are still in a downward trending market. All I'm saying is, had I stuck in FAZ today I would be out about $2500. But I shifted strategy once it broke fibonacci and bought FAS, which I am now watching closely.

Port1385 says to "double down" in your 3x inverse positions!!!

You're joking man, right? Draw some fibonacci, look at where FAZ is headed. It broke it's uptrend pretty sharply, is approaching an even lower support @ ~9.80. You can't fight these days, believe me man, I've tried before and all you will end up doing is smacking yourself in the head looking at...

Port1385 says to "double down" in your 3x inverse positions!!!

The bottom line is, if you are right (which you probably will be, eventually, because won't everyone?), why try to fight the market? I sold my FAZ today and got into FAS.

    Faz $8.65 Srs $26.60

FAZ broke it's support of ~10.90, if you wan't to consider ETF as having a support.

    Faz $8.65 Srs $26.60

Exactly. Hated to see this happen, but you can't fight the market. I'm in FAS @ 6.70

    Faz $8.65 Srs $26.60

If FAZ can break out above 13.15 with strong volume I'll probably hop back in.

Today might be a FAS day..

Yeah- I just got stopped out of both my positions. Might look for re-entry later.

    BAC Options

I think inevitably it is a good idea to bet along side the U.S. gov't, regardless of whether things are ever fixed for "real"--all that matters is if public perception of the situation briefly improves, and you can bank in. If you figure a whole 6 week rally was set off by a single "leaked" memo...

    FAS/FAZ Options

I am thinking about buying calls for MAY FAS 9 (lmt .70) && MAY FAZ 15 (lmt 1.70) At a volatile time like this where the next couple of days should be pretty rough, is there any potential downside to this strategy other than my max loss of 2.40 per contract? Even then--are my losses not...

    RE: 3X Inverses & M.A.

Yes-- I've read these articles, and I am aware of the math behind the greater downside risk if held over time. However in a possible downward rally, I see no downside so long as appropriate stop losses are used. That is my question re: the M.A. I'm trying to figure out where to create stop...

    RE: 3X Inverses & M.A.

How relevant are moving averages for these leveraged ETFs? If applicable, what is the most efficient/accurate moving average to use and with what time period when looking at a 2-4 day outcome? Also, how do the prices of these ETFs change under high volume (like today, for instance)? I am...

I'm also in overnight, but I will probably releverage (I'm currently 60% SRS, 40% FAZ) tomorrow, depending on which seems to be tracking the bigger loser. Is any news of importance (unemployment data, etc) coming out tomorrow, or are we just in for a few more cooked books?
