    ES Journal Archive (2006 - 2008)

Do you have any particular reasons for being so bullish? I myself am moderately so, one reason being in my own stock portfolio, which is intermediate to long term generally, I'm doing terrific. I don't see that very well reflected in ES though, which seems to indicate a lack of breadth to the...

Tips to pass the series 7 with minimal effort

I was basically told "pass this or you'll be fired" so I read the book, and then spent the weekend before taking practice tests over and over. I got an 89. There is no short cut. Take a class too, it helps certain sections of the test. I wasn't a retail stock broker (which is what the test...

    share office in Westchester

For anyone else reading this, I'm looking to share office space, my strong preference is Irvington or Tarrytown , in the village. The spaces that are available are either too big for me or it's a little cubby hole in which I'd feel as if I was in a cave.

Life is good for NYC landlords

I've been to Michigan several times, my cousins live there. I didn't love it or hate it. It was nice enough, and I think it's great you like it , but I didn't see anything particularly compelling, although I don't claim to have seen the whole state.

Life is good for NYC landlords

I've never been to Rome, but I've been to Paris 6 or 7 times. I love Paris to visit, I can't say whether I'd like to live there. I don't have much of an aptitude for languages so that would a problem, and French taxes make NY's look low. Plus, I like it here, I don't feel the need to move. I'm...

Life is good for NYC landlords

Hate to tell you, but there's a whole lot more to NY state than NYC. I love NYC, and have lived there, but now live 25 miles away, on the Hudson, with trees everywhere, deer, wild turkey, even coyotes and foxes running around. Plus, I'm 35 minutes from the greatest city in the world, have much...

    ES Journal Archive (2006 - 2008)

The combination of Passover starting this past weekend and many NY area schools having off this week will have the effect that many market participants won't be around this week as much, if at all, which means likely lower volume all week, especially monday and friday.

    Florida vs. New York

You lived in NJ, not NYC . I've lived in Manhattan, Brooklyn Heights , and Westchester while working in Manhattan, and commuting from the burbs sucks. My life was much more enjoyable while I lived in Brooklyn and had a 10 minute commute to lower Manhattan. I worked a good amount, but when I was...

    Florida vs. New York

NYC has the lowest crime rate of any big city in the USA. Easily. You barely see homeless people much anymore. I'm sorry, but your stereotypes are way out of date. Texas cities are routinely high on the lists of places with high crime rates. Atlanta GA as well. Plus, the cities are dumpy and...

What exacly is a "Sales Trader"??

You need to know someone . Depending on the product, it's not as lucrative as it once was. I was in the high yield bond biz for a decade , and much of the money everyone made was in spreads between buys and sells , but the NASD started making everyone report their trades to an electronic system...

Florida is an armpit. The tax situation is the only good thing about it.
