    Japanese stocks info in English

I came across this site provided by a Japanese broker that lists Japanese companies which have English language web sites that give detailed information on their operations, annual reports etc. I live in Japan and have no language problem. So I have never used this site, and just thought...

    >TradEStar I would think that if you posted your question in the EFS section of eSignal's forums, and if such an EFS exists, Alex will surely know and will kindly direct you to it.

Is anyone trading the Nikkei 225 Mini?

For IB it's N225M. I don't know what it is for QT.

Is anyone trading the Nikkei 225 Mini?

In my 35 years of trading in Japan I can't recall there ever being a halt on the OSE. The OSE trades very little stock. Futures are what keeps it going. And as I said in an earlier post, OSE has installed new computers. So no need to stock up on ulcer medicine! TSE did halt trading last...

Is anyone trading the Nikkei 225 Mini?

    >Schaefer There's a guy in IB's Hong Kong office who gets things done. I spoke to him mid-day and late this afternoon IB's Japan data was once more 100% accurate. Data problem solved!!

Is anyone trading the Nikkei 225 Mini?

If you have Nikkei futures data from OSE, you won't miss much without the Nikkei Index. The index updates only once a minute and is usually within 10-20 yen of the futures contract. The Topix Index updates every 15 seconds.

Is anyone trading the Nikkei 225 Mini?

The Nikkei Index is owned and compiled by the Nikkei Shinbun(newspaper). TSE and OSE don't provide the data. eSignal charges separately for Nikkei Index data.

Is anyone trading the Nikkei 225 Mini?

But they say they will offer trading on SIMEX. The Nikkei225 traded there is the full sized, not the Mini.

Is anyone trading the Nikkei 225 Mini?

    >Schaefer I didn't mention the current Japan data problem yesterday. I can compare IB's Japan data with Reuters, eSignal and all the Japanese brokers. I can say that any time difference between IB's data and that of the others cannot be seen with the human eye when all is working as...

Is anyone trading the Nikkei 225 Mini?

    >Schaefer This chart of the Nikkei225 Mini since it was listed may be of interest to you. The ATR may not be as great as other futures. However, it is usually active enough to create minor trends throughout the day that provide numerous trading opportunities if you do that type of trading.

Is anyone trading the Nikkei 225 Mini?

    >Schaefer If you open an account with IB, make sure to tell them to put you on the Hong Kong server. If you are on the U.S. server, it will shut down for maintenance for a few seconds/minutes during Asian trading hours. FYI OSE will start an evening session 9/18 for Nikkei futures and...

Is anyone trading the Nikkei 225 Mini?

I was referring to futures that do not trade 24h a day. Gaps after lunch do occur from time to time, but they are usually small and will rarely give you indigestion.

Is anyone trading the Nikkei 225 Mini?

    >Schaefer As for holding overnight, I think that holds true for any futures contract. Market's open here now, so I'll get back to you later. For now I'll just say that I trade JGB futures through IB and Nikkei Mini through Japanese brokers. Both are great for trading. IB's data for...

Is anyone trading the Nikkei 225 Mini?

I trade the Nikkei225 Mini here in Tokyo. Many mentioned that it's also traded on Simex. I haven't looked lately, but isn't that the fullsized Nikkei and not the Mini? The fullsized Nikkei has always traded at 5 yen per tick on Simex.
