My naive analysis is that the FED’s been juicing the markets over the last decade, but they’re no longer doing so. Yet everyone is expecting a rally and wants to buy the dip. What am I missing?

This volatility is giving me a fight or flight response.

Well, it's a controlled and slow moving bear so far. We haven't yet had a 5 % down day. How would the veterans compare this to prior bear markets? 2007-09 was a full blown financial crisis, so I imagine that so far it's not comparative by any means.

And maybe a new one will be created today which will be left behind for a while?

It might have helped. It's also possible my silly brain would have been thinking breakout. :) I try my best to stay flexible and loose, but it still happens that I get locked down with a certain view and start imposing my wishes and desires on the market instead of seeing it like it is and...

The only thing I can say is that I can easily see that happen. :) I don't hold a strong view/opinion right now. But if someone held a gun to my head I would say lower. Been saying down since Sunday. Just not done a good job trading it. That sucks, dude. I find this volatility hard to trade...

I'm flattered that you ask, but I've no idea. Especially after that interesting close. Higher time frames and the daily looks very heavy, though. But they might not make it easy.

Stop shorting this and let it rip! :) Still a range bound day, so nice trading recognizing that.

Once 95 breaks I think this will rip hard.

Stopped out for that trade for + 6 points. Not sure if I got greedy or if I played it right. Or maybe I played it too tight. A wasted day on my end. Not sure if I'll do any more trades today. A bit two-sided for my taste.

Back to the mid-point which held for now...

Still a range bound day, but if we pop above 3800 one more time I'll trail aggressively. If we clear 3800 a second time I don't think we should look back again if we get a good rally into the Close. Anything can happen still...

Finally. Locking in a few. Will see what happens if we can take out the HOD. We can still lose momentum here at 3795. Let's see what the bulls got.

What would surprise me is if we don't either make new lows or new highs by the Close, but who the hell knows. Today's RTH session have made me feel like a gambler. Not much going on for the last few hours...
