    Ontario declares State of Emergency!

It's a stupid law, enacted by a stupid government who was elected by the majority of the stupid people. As I am smarter than most I'm exempt. (After all I have read the internet; well the stuff I agree with.) That seems to stand up in court. Are there any consequences at all to civil...

    National Bank Direct Canada

I get my information on that from an IB ad. I swing trade so execution isn't that important. I used IB years ago but position size got to the point where a fixed rate was more advantageous. Which broker are you using? It will be interesting to see how a zero commission broker works. For...

    National Bank Direct Canada

Canada is slowly making it's way to zero commission brokerage. Not sure how the brokerage makes money as selling order flow is not allowed in Canada. Wealthsimple was the first to offer zero commissions on individual stock but had it's drawback. For one thing trading US stocks required...

    UVXY Daytrading insights

Ken; Why don't you just start a journal. It seems you are always starting a new thread just to show your latest trade. Then you could show your equity curve and as it increased I'm sure you'd gather a crowd.

    Why I don't short

Not sure I follow you here. Hell not sure I follow you anywhere.:) An insurance inverse ETF is buying an inverse rather than selling a long position when the market moves against you. So the minute you buy the inverse you guarantee that which ever way the market moves you won't lose any money...

    Why I don't short

I don't understand options. When you say returns of 85% I have to assume you mean on capital invested. Are you not then risking 100% (What you paid for the option) to earn 85%

    Why I don't short

That's because the indexes are managed. The poor performers are thrown out and the best are added. Not so with individual stocks. The index will probably always come back. Individual stocks not so much.

From the Newbie Desk: why pick this stock?

I guess I agree with that. If I felt that one stock was going to increase 54% and the other 15% I'd probably buy the one increasing 54% I was going to say that your method of trading doesn't need split second execution. How much time does it take to calculate a position size? Wouldn't buying a...

When Does Day Trade Becomes Swing Trade?

If I have a day trade it's because a swing trade moved against me right after I opened the position. I was just wondering why you would have all those accounts? Different brokerages or different account types. Must be a nightmare keeping up with the paperwork.

From the Newbie Desk: why pick this stock?

Why percent makes more sense: Well in your example above where you compare two stocks; if AMZN gains $500 that's a 15% gain and if TSLA gains $500 that's a 54% gain. As for limiting you choices I was referring to your wanting to buy 100 share positions.

From the Newbie Desk: why pick this stock?

Why are you dealing in board lots? When I started trading it might get you a little better price but today you can buy a single share at no disadvantage. Also percentage makes more sense. Looking at dollars per share limits your choices. I size my positions by the risk I'm willing to take as a...

Down 40% on VICR - should i sell or should I Hold?

Nope I don't get annoyed. It's a strategy I use. Every stock that is a huge winner has several record highs. However a part of my strategy doesn't allow me to hold losers in my portfolio. Or hold a stock that that breaks an up trend line. I rarely have a big loss if it's in my control to avoid...
