Profit Splits at day trading Firms

If you are a novice you should worry more about the training then the% split . There is a good chance it will take you 1 year or so to get profitable so the cut is not a big deal.

Profit Splits at day trading Firms

I trade prop (futures) on a 50% split, when you generate over 100k you can negociate in the 60-70% level. No money down but a simulator till you show profibality for a couple of months for novice traders.

I think it would be easier to go long then short .... Why are you always short the ER2 ( i known it is a intraday trend fade but..) i think you would have a easier task if you would be buying pullbacks , especially if you have a profit target ( er2 will tank hard one day but when? ) best of...

Covered call is more risky than it appears?

Going short 100 contracts at 0.25$ in a retail account is a suicide . you will capture 2500$ 19 out of 20 times ( that is + 47 500$) THEN get hit once for 4.50$ ( that is - 45 000$). SO YOU are a winner not . why because you might get the -45000$ on your first trade... Lets say you...

Covered call is more risky than it appears?

Good question Cache , Selling OTM for tiny premiums is a pro game. Risk reward for a retail trader is terrible. Selling insurance is a good job but if you have a retail account go for the ATM 1.00 + premium then the "juice" is less a factor.

Covered call is more risky than it appears?

Articulate don t forget the commish in calculating risk - reward : when you pay a penny a contract to receive 0.20 that is 5% of the premium...

Covered call is more risky than it appears?

To answer the initial question a covered call is the equivalent of a short put. Obviously less risky than a outright long cash(stock)position but i too would not suggest that strategy to a novice with a small account ( the commish is too high for the reward ex: receiving a 0.25 premium).
