Short put is deep ITM. Advice!

I have not heard of Buffet selling puts to buy stocks. He would outsize the equity derivs market in 10 seconds. He did sell puts on the indices, but he, himself, was outsized by the annuities that were hedging long dated exposure. That was in 2007ish.

The only people during my time as a MM and buy side trader who used technical analysis were the posers. More often than not, they were some form of sales trader who were using technicals as a way to start a conversation or to participate in one.

MicroStrategy is about to sell their stocks to buy Bitcoin

Whether or not bitcoin should or will be successful is irrelevant. It’s not Michael saylor’s business to solve for an investable bitcoin product through microstrategy. If he wants to he should have done it through a separate vehicle. the work of thousands of people is now 100percenr dictated...

MicroStrategy is about to sell their stocks to buy Bitcoin

I don’t believe bitcoin will be the dominant technology even if crypto will become mainstream. But even if it does, as an investor I can take that view through actual bitcoin, I don’t need a company who sells software punting 100x their business on bitcoin. I believe this is a stock scheme...

MicroStrategy is about to sell their stocks to buy Bitcoin

That’s just a CYA clause. If something unforeseen happens and buying the coin becomes unprudent, they can use this clause to cover themselves. I think it’s dumb that a mid cap tech company has become a bitcoin vehicle.

Selling losing stocks for a tax boost? A new paper says beware these tripwires

Why would anyone harvest losses anytime before the last few weeks of December? throughout the rest of the year shouldn’t investing decisions be made strictly on the view of the model/portfolio manager?

My CS professor was instrumental in building google's core search algorithm. In 2001 they offered in a job. He opted to stay in academics. He left billions of net worth on the table, while google still managed to dominate search without him.

    Saylor: Tax That!

There are many experiments (mostly Conducted in the 1960s when it was okay to psychologically torture subjects) that indicate we’d likely be operating the ovens in those scenarios. It’s not determinism. It’s psychology. Some will rebel but most of us won’t. And my point is that you and I are...

    Porsche IPO

I think it ended more trading careers than it made. Most of Wall Street was short it and most pensioners were long it.

The dark side of Goldman Sachs

I think the 70 cents includes missed promotions etc. In my company the women tend to be better employees than the men. They have to be that much tougher to survive in manufacturing.
