Natural Gas options - is this a covered call?

Yes, locks in a price. I spoke to a guy once who bought large amounts of gold, silver, platinum and Palladium from retailers. He then smelted the product back down to bars and sold it to wholesale jewelers. After he bought the metals but before he made delivery he wanted to lock in a price...

    Position Sizing For Options

I like to use just ITM options as a stock replacement. If I want to own 2000 deltas of AAPL, and don't have $312K or do not want to tie up that much margin or want an implied stop by using options vs stop orders to limit losses, I'd use a just IMO option. My time frame needs to match the time...

Proprietary firms that don't front run your data

I'm jumping in late, so some of this might have been covered. I am tired of losing money just because I don't have the right positioning. I'm not following your complaint. Did I miss it, are you a member of a prop firm or do you have a customer account? Either way, you decide with in the...

Natural Gas options - is this a covered call?

You can tell your FCM you are a hedger. Selling the call only provides protection to the value of the call. Selling the future would provide full protection and lock in a price. You will want to unwind at the time of delivery of your product. Make sure the futures contract goes a little past that.

    Sec Rule 201

It is in your best interest to learn size allocation based on whatever criteria you choose. If one stock moves 10% on an average day and another one 1.5%, buying the same dollar amount would be placing a bigger bet on the more volatile stock. There is nothing wrong with that as long as this is...

    Sec Rule 201

I took a look at your portfolio. I realize this is sim. Except VOO, all the positions are the same size-about $23K. Do you think it is a good idea to have the same allocation in TLRY as TLT-NKE-BABA-GLD?

What causes ETF inflows or outflows?

You sell the ETF, the buy and sell basket short. You buy the ETF, the sell short ETF, and buy the basket. They will only do this is the values make sense.

What causes ETF inflows or outflows?

Customers can't redeem or create shares. If customers sell shares, Market Makers will buy blocks at prices where they can short the basket and redeem the ETF for a profit. This can only be done by Authorized Participants...

Is IB's Hidden orders type "real" (or simulated)? Can a hidden Buy hit a hidden Offer?

I would consider IB’s spread orders held on their server an option dark pool as it is not posted to a COB and not part of price Discovery outside their system.

Is IB's Hidden orders type "real" (or simulated)? Can a hidden Buy hit a hidden Offer?

It does not. I did not know he was asking about options and in the past, posters choose the wrong forum more often than the right one. My bad.

Is IB's Hidden orders type "real" (or simulated)? Can a hidden Buy hit a hidden Offer?

There are 15 option exchanges. Held at IB or on an exchange, your order has no protection. If you want to give he a call this morning I can provide more details. I'm telling you that these orders are not in your best interest. Just that simple.

Is IB's Hidden orders type "real" (or simulated)? Can a hidden Buy hit a hidden Offer?

Why do you think you would bet a better execution not being represented in the NBBO and having no protection of trade throughs? At least an Iceberg order would show your price but not size. A hidden order makes no sense to me. For my orders, I want price discover and for all the players to see...
