I just spoke to the CME. They have no ETA on when they will be back up. They did tell me all Day orders will be canceled but GTD and GTC orders will remain. They will have an opening similar to what you have at 5pm CT when they are ready.

It is not the software, so I expect you will not have to restart, but you should contact your platform. A market halt is generally followed up with a re-opening process.

I just want to toss out an alternative. We offer per share and per trade pricing. If your average order size is between 2000 and 10,000 shares at IB, we can save you a lot of money and still provide access to ECNs and Exchanges with their maker-taker schedule.

You do not need OI to do this. you need a market maker that monitors the COB and has a little edge at a price you do to.

ES options do not create a credit in a margin account so there is no reason to do that.
