    Michael Vick Being Sued

An interesting twist to this story. Looks like he really blew it. Canadian bank demands $2-million in lawsuit against Vick Tuesday, September 25, 2007 NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Royal Bank of Canada has sued suspended Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick for more than $2.3-million...

    IB Canada Unbundled Commissions

Thanks for the 'encouragement' Quant. I'm certainly not at 'pro' levels by any means but am grinding out profits. As for penny stocks, you're absolutely right. I view them as nothing more than pieces of paper, but as long as they move in price, great. Then again, half the CDOs, SIVs, which...

    IB Canada Unbundled Commissions

Just as a follow up to my original post. I switched to unbundled pricing and started receiving the commissions today. Overall, quite please. The savings were good although I must over the 300 000 share tier. HOWEVER, unbundled pricing really sucks for TSX Venture exchange trades. Bought...

    its ALL ABOUT FERTILIZER -------

Nice move on that today. On the watchlist. Here's another fertilizer play based in China. Can't understand why it hasn't moved yet. If you look at MGO and HF on the TSX, they've had spectacular moves (fertilizer producers in China). SVU - Spur Ventures (TSX Venture) Again, not plugging.

    its ALL ABOUT FERTILIZER -------

If you like fertilizer, some of that money may trickle down to some smaller plays. These are Cdn if you're interested: FOS (TSX Venture) - Phoscan Chemical BLR (TSX Venture) - Baltic Resources ALM (TSX Venture) - Anglo Minerals Threse three are potash plays. Not 'plugging'...

    jim rogers interview on bloomberg

Yeah. Let's see, he's a billionaire and you are????? He's (self) admittedly a terrible trader so he chooses to put on macro long term trades. He's been right to this point although his timing is off. But when you have deep pockets, you can ride it out.

    IB Canada Unbundled Commissions

Well then, when I do start to trade more U.S. stocks, I guess I'll be up to par considering the lower liquidity and higher commissions here in Canada.

    Visial USD/CAD this year

Cdn dollar is overvalued at this point. Purchasing power parity indicates that the loonie needs to fall. Cdns are able to cross the border into the U.S. and buy goods cheaper than in Canada (even when duties are taken into account). However, as Keynes said, "markets can stay irrational longer...

    IB Canada Unbundled Commissions

Thousands of stocks. The liquidity is certainly not as good as it is for U.S. stocks for the most part. I tend to stick to what works best for me. I'm not in this for bragging rights or to stroke my ego, it's just about generating profits.

    IB Canada Unbundled Commissions

Anyone choose to go with unbundled commission structure in Canada? I just finished reading through and if I understand correctly, it sounds like you could save money. I read that IB will still cap the commission charge at 0.5% of the trade value even under the unbundled pricing structure...

    Now here's a central banker

Just read this off the Globe and Mail site. I think his frankness is what central bank heads should be doing. The number one priority of any central bank is to maintain its own credibility. Once that goes, your currency is done. Something that Paul Volcker understood very clearly. Dodge...
