    Darvas methods?

Not to mention 3% commissions and day old newspapers. And just like today, he had people (justice department) who wanted to see a screenshot of his brokerage statement.

How to liquidate a portion of a portfolio?

You can't possibly know. But then you don't know which stock out there in the market that you don't own is going to double tomorrow. How long do you hold onto a stock because your afraid it might go up if you sell it? You don't want to let FOMO control your trading.

    Bitcoin "Freefall"

Shotgun strategy? Buy a bunch and count on at least one gaining more than you lose on the rest.

    Bitcoin "Freefall"

I can see the value of block chain. Although where to invest is the question. All the blockchain stocks I have found are trending down. (I should add at this time.)

Do Experienced Traders Still Paper Trade?

I'd say it was more like learning how to hit a draw on the driving range as opposed to learning while your playing for 10 bucks a hole. If you can't make money on paper, what makes you think you'll do better when you throw in the emotions involved with losing real money?

Do Experienced Traders Still Paper Trade?

When I started I traded on a simulator (IB practice account). I used it to forward test strategies. If you can't make money with a simulator you certainly won't in real time. 2 advantages I could see. One I learned the program and could experiment with order types and build hot keys. Secondly I...

When do I become enlightened in terms of price action trading?

It's not very scientific but here goes. I took every trade I made this year and compared the price I sold at with todays price. If I had kept every position, today I would be down just over 4% (Maybe even less as January hasn't been very nice so far) My returns for 2021 were over 30% with my max...

When do I become enlightened in terms of price action trading?

Hard to compare. Last year I made 55 trades, so which companies would you compare to my portfolio that holds at a maximum of 10 stocks. Usually not that many. Some of the stocks I sold and then rebought, some higher some lower. Some just kept falling. Some recovered but the stock that replaced...

When do I become enlightened in terms of price action trading?

I have yet to have a situation where a stop loss didn't work. There are gap downs where I didn't get filled where I planned but I have always been able to get out of a position that was moving against me. I use SPY as a benchmark. I guess it's comparing apples to oranges but it seems to me that...

When do I become enlightened in terms of price action trading?

Haven't read Margin of Safety (Pretty rare by the look of it) but do have Greenblatts Little Book from back in the day when I considered myself an investor. Now as a speculator the method doesn't have the risk control I desire.

When do I become enlightened in terms of price action trading?

I assume you have read O'Neil's "How to make money in stocks". What is your take on that book?
