I didn't say I was optimistic. I said we're not doing nothing.
The USA seems to lack ability to even quarantine parts of the country. Which is less than Italy tried to do several weeks ago.
So that's not a good sign.
I simply said we aren't exactly just doing nothing.
I disagree.
Notice how nobody gives a rat's ass about Joe Biden or anything he says?
Maybe if Trump was running against Cuomo, it would be a close race.
I'm going to be watching the state of Washington very closely. Some news articles say it's leveling off, but I don't see why they make that claim when they have new daily highs every day.
But that's where it started in the USA, so good place to look.
In any event, it didn't get completely...
On trades that are longer than swing trades, but not intended to be buy-and-hold...
Perhaps I plan to hold for 2 weeks or even several months before I think my predictions will materialize.
How to set stops here? Because it could go opposite of my prediction before heading in the right...
I am unfortunately of the opinion that it's going to get bad.
We are not being as smart about this as China, Taiwan, South Korea, etc.
I don't think the American people understand the severity of it yet.
I wouldn't exactly call my guess "random."
I would honestly rather get back to day trading but I lost so much shorting Thursday without a stop-loss that I think I can make it back.
Like I said, not a perfect strategy.
But there has been no good news coming from this virus thing. It's only...
The problem with stop loss from my perspective is that I can't predict a short-term rise, even if longer-term is decline.
A stop loss may cause me to lose when I otherwise would have won.
It's definitely not a perfect system, but I don't think a perfect system exists.
Wuhan was real bad for 3 weeks. Italy is at about 2 weeks.
So maybe it will start to decline soon, or maybe Italy didn't do a good enough job of containment.
Either way, USA has a lot more room for it to spread.
What do you think of a trade like this?
CHF/NOK has skyrocketed lately since early March. What about sell it and hold until the corona stuff has passed?
You can extend the relatively flat line before the increase all the way back to 2015 or further.
You say that tight stops are important...
What if I plan to hold longer than a day? If I'm predicting something that's 3 months out, then it could go opposite direction for a while and not disprove my prediction.
Why? Don't you think gold has been acting too weird lately to be reliable?
It's supposed to move opposite the market, and it's practically been doing the opposite.
I began to feel sick in Belgium on March 9th. Very minor cough.
The next day, I took the train to London under the channel and spent a few hours in London before going to the airport and flying home to Orlando.
On the 11th, I had a bad sore throat with no fever. Doctor wouldn't test me because...
I think we would all be shocked to know the true number of people that were infected and never got tested. They will hopefully be immune. I'm pretty sure this includes myself.
