Just comparing there margins to others. Up another 10% this week......No other US broker has raised there margins, not even the damm exchange....I have never seen IB raise there margin so fast. Something is just not right.

Now it's $10,370.95 for 1 YM futures contract. This will be 15k with a little more volatility.

Are you on the free version offered by AMP? I bought a full time license MC way back in 2004 for like $300.00. They were just starting out. I've personally never and any issues.

I can't find another broker that raised futures margins. The CME will give notice when they raise. Did anyone receive notice from IB?

I suspect if the volatility continues we could easily see YM initial at 10-15k...This will surely curtail retail. Then all you pros can trade with the pros.

I'm just saying, when and if we do fall into a bear market, there margins will go even higher. I guess that's the point I'm trying to raise.

They are signaling they are adverse to risk. And that's fine. Some firms manage risk in different ways. IB prefers to pass the risk on to the client.

Lol.....My equity curve tells me I'm in the right business.
