    Is Volatility an Asset Class?

I understand there is a lot of semantics here. Most of the financial community uses these terms interchangeably. I for one, don't consider gold to be an asset. I get it though that Gold is presented as an asset because it would be impossible to market gold without it. I also get how one...

    Is Volatility an Asset Class?

Some of them are due to low demand but that low demand is a function of something right? Perhaps the ETF was NOT doing what it was suppose to do in which people will stop owning it and then yes, once it sits there with no volume it will be delisted.

All ETFs are rebalanced daily. That has not stopped the 500 or so that cease to exist today.

Why do traders still use lagging indicators?

No. Listen, I get it this is a little over your head so I don't want to waste a whole lot of time on something that you can google and read all about on the net on your own time. It has nothing to do with probability, win/loss ratios or even p&l. It has to do with proving that some...

Why do traders still use lagging indicators?

Of course it can be disproved. It's called the scientific method. We have ways of measuring statistical significance for any coefficient you can dream up and test whether that coefficient can actually explain the variation in the data.

    Is Volatility an Asset Class?

Technically Gold does generate cash flows. It provides the real return of money. It's not a cash flow that flows into your bank account each month but those cash flows are embedded in the price of gold and it's one reasons it appreciates or depreciates across time. Volatility cannot go to...

Why do traders still use lagging indicators?

I have never read a thread in 14 years that I have been on ET full of more total and utter crap. Did someone actually say moving averages are forward looking? OMFG. Go ahead and bash away. Do you guys actually read the stuff that you post?

    Is Volatility an Asset Class?

No. An asset is defined as something that can generate cash flows. Not something that goes up in time. It has value in time. There is such an asset that generates cash flows from short vol and that is equities. They benefit over time from a lower risk premium since their future cash...

    The ACD Method

I trade entirely off ACD derivatives so the raw score is not as important now vs the relative values.

    The ACD Method

Think of a number. Now think of a bigger number. Take that 2d number and square it. Now multiply that second number times the first number. That's a pretty close estimate. :)

    Can't lose opportunity

And the OP has to ask himself, who is going to sell their Line Bonds for $3? The answer is 50 offered.

    Can't lose opportunity

Yeah OK so the leap jan 1.00 puts are .95 offered. There is a nickel to be made in the trade on the options plus the loss on the bonds. This trade doesn't even have a positive expectancy much less can't lose opportunity. Frost, what destriero is trying to tell you is the 1 strike puts...

    Can't lose opportunity

That's one of many problems. Another is are the bonds callable and at what price? Another issue like Sig mentioned is the cash flow symmetry. The short stock could blow him out way before he ever sees a dime on the bonds. So he will get forced to cover his stock position and then the...
