After my first year of mediocre trading, I’m looking to do some serious training on a paper account

Why day trading? With a small account you run up against the PDT rule. Probably the most difficult type of trading. I'm not sure why people are drawn to day trading. Is it the lure of easy money, the internet guys who are turning a 5k account into millions or some other reason? I know I...

This is a very important point about Stock Trading

When you have a stock portfolio, it doesn't matter if you have a 6 stock portfolio or a 50 stock portfolio a bear market will knock it down. To control your risk you have to have a method of getting out of the market during a bear.

    Let's talk about loneliness

Nothing better than a duck that just flew out of some poor farmers grain field. Gotta watch for pellets in the meat. They are also a bitch to pluck.

    Scalping is Risky?

If scalping is risky then trading is risky. It's just a matter of time. Scalping should be less risky as you are in a trade for less time. There is little risk when you are in cash.

Any of you remember the 2000 crash?

The Tech Wreck is the event that changed me from an investor to a speculator. I didn't like the feeling of watching my liquid net-worth get cut in half. The focus changed from how much can I make to how much can I lose. The number one priority became protection of capital.

Golf is very like trading. Your biggest competitor is yourself. You play the same course over and over and never have the same shot. It's the challenge that is addicting.

LEGITIMATE question: how do you buy when price is rising?

I'd rather take a quick loss than have a trade go against me and tie my capital up while i wait for a turn around. By taking a quick loss I eliminate the question; How long do I wait before I sell this loser? Every big loss starts out as a small loss.

LEGITIMATE question: how do you buy when price is rising?

The majority of my buys are at new highs. There is no one trapped above me waiting to get out at break-even. Stocks that become ten baggers make a lot of new highs.

Tax implications of spending your Bitcoin.

I don't try to guess why people do shit. I just wondered about the tax implications. Merchants wouldn't offer to take crypto to pay for stuff if there wasn't a demand. How does someone who pays for goods or service in bitcoin account for it? Someone is selling their bitcoin and having problems...

If Technical Analysis doesn’t work, how do you define a bull market?

How do you make out. I found the equity swings to be too wide. There are days you just run into a hot dealer. I've seen guys that know better go on tilt when the count is in your favor but you can't win a hand. Again money management keeps you in the game. I can leave the table any time I...
