New ETF called TJUL guards against downturns and has capped gains?

Tell me you don't know how to use options without saying that you don't know how to use options. That goes for the investors of JEPI, QYLD and anything of the sort too.

Fed has a duty to stop this rapidly forming bubble

You're looking at this too simplistically. The problem is supply not demand. The highest bidders were usually institutional investors who could pay in cash anyways. During Covid the problem was also a lack of supply as people wanted to escape the metro areas because they turned to shit. Higher...

Are We Truly Aware of the Potential of Algorithmic Trading?

The Algos are only one part of the equation. The most useful part is the order flow data and the capital to take the other side against the weak hands (most retail traders).

Fed has a duty to stop this rapidly forming bubble

Shelter is in a state supply shortage. Additional supply of housing won't get built as long as interest rates are high and the investment for development isn't justified. Nobody is willing to sell their existing home and signup for a 2x higher mortgage rate in a new home. The key to lower...

    Simulating stock prices using GBM

GBM by itself is just a base model. You need to add a dynamic risk free rate and simulate the option chain to develop an accurate real word Algo trading system.

    Simulating stock prices using GBM

What makes you think it's wrong? Did you check the mu and sigma parameters?

    Shorting Treasury Bonds

What was yesterday afternoons yield and VIX spike + market drop about? Japan? I am operating on the thesis that yield curve is going to correct. There will be de-dollarization and the fed isn't going to cut rates anytime soon.

    Cash Secured Puts

It's a good introduction strategy as long as you are able and willing to eat the shares at the price. It seems like free money, but you are picking up pennies in front of bulldozers. But I hope that you learn a full arsenal of option strategies and techniques instead of quitting when things go...

Are options a waste of time and money? (pun intended)

Not at all. Once your long options go ITM and your short options go OTM then the convexity is gone.

Are options a waste of time and money? (pun intended)

Bollinger Bands are the most statistically based. The strategy works most of the time except during waves #3, and #5 when there isn't enough mean reversion. But there are synthetic strategies to play momentum during Waves 3, and 5. You just roll your short leg from OTM to ATM or even ITM and...

Au Contraire, Mon Freire. It's a long credit strangle. Thats all it is.

Are options a waste of time and money? (pun intended)

The market likes oil stocks today. Thats the only thing that has an up signal on my strategy.

BTW, I don't recall seeing your trade.

Are options a waste of time and money? (pun intended)

I would now skew it to the short call side. I have a Bollinger Band Strategy that has sell signal on the ES that generates over 300k a year to swing a single contract. It also makes almost $400 per share on SPY and VOO.

Are options a waste of time and money? (pun intended)

I downloaded this book to learn the difference for free. Since I don't like paying for options, why would I pay for a book about options? But he seems pretty legit. He is probably fishing on his yacht too while I am just a small-time retail trader using options to turn every stock into a...

Are options a waste of time and money? (pun intended)

They are still just buying and selling shares, calls, and puts. That's all that there is. The additional terminology is just marketing to sell additional products to people who don't need them. All that you need is good understanding of option pricing models and probability distributions.

Are options a waste of time and money? (pun intended)

Volume and frequency is the difference. HFT firms manages moves alot quicker and with alot more volume.

My opening trade on SPX would look something like this. It meets all of my criterion.

Are options a waste of time and money? (pun intended)

I will do that too. I try to pay the least amount up front as possible. My ideal trade is to recieve an initial credit, have capped risk, but also have non-capped profit potential.
