this is a bear market for 10 years.

TSX has done exactly that it shows every aspect of a bottom already. Index and bank stocks. In addition, the CDN$ at briefly 68 cents mirrors the bottom after the last crisis. What occurred in 2009 forward was several years of strength in miners, energy, and Cdn banks. Energy is a gamble but...

this is a bear market for 10 years.

You didn't win anything. My observation over many years is that vocal permabears tend to under perform the opportunity on corrections ( rightly so, the timing and velocity is difficult ). It's actually far easier to see a clear floor and go long. That however requires a less emotional approach (...

this is a bear market for 10 years.

Remember, I called a bottom on the TSX ( posted on this several times recently ) in the 11500-11900 range.

this is a bear market for 10 years.

You were arrogantly bashing others including me from day one. You spoke of a certainty that didn't exist and now think a black swan event will permanently change the markets for decades. Let's put a number on it. My guess is we go to at least 3000 on the SPX within a year. I particularly like...

this is a bear market for 10 years.

Every correction no matter what the reason brings these guys out and they always expect worse then it is. I believe the US bull is still on longer term and this crisis is a huge buying opportunity with less risk then 2009. And the real problem these guys have is they got locked into things going...

this is a bear market for 10 years.

When we recover you can go back to blaming "money printing" and the Fed and claiming it's a bubble. You just said we'd never see 3400 on the SPX again; that's delusional in nature. Reminds me of 2009 when people swore til they were blue in the face that we would never break ATHs ( 15xx ) again...

this is a bear market for 10 years.

If you read exactly what I said it all holds up. A black swan event does not confirm markets were in a bubble; in fact, we haven't nearly dropped enough to confirm that at all. A true bubble not only drops huge but it stays at much lower levels for decades. Not going to happen. S2007S was...

this is a bear market for 10 years.

You got lucky on a black swan event; what was crazy was your stated premises on why we would crash. And why that matters is how you react to current markets now. I got out ages ago and kept a significant portion of my 2019 gains which I forecast with precision. You can note no forecast from me...

Or it's a short term black swan event that gets dealt with leading to a V shaped recovery that very few will see coming. Place your bets accordingly. I fail to see how this virus truly impacts the top Cdn banks for example; they will do even better on interest spreads. Yet you can buy them now...

I'd also add very real value in the IT sector adds some degree of premium to the overall market. Also possible that growing industries like health car/environmental/electric cars replace some struggling industries.

    Trump Recession

Trump forever believing he personally impacted on the economy and stock markets, gloating on his "success" publicly, will come back to bite him hard now. He literally said 5-6% GDP growth would be "easy". I saw a chart the other day and actual GDP growth in the US looks fairly flat for quite a...

Trump is obviously going to win in 2020

Democrats can run almost anyone and win at this point. The fact he's considering a female running mate is a really smart move going against Trump.

Trump is obviously going to win in 2020

No chance Trump wins the US preparation for the virus was delayed and poorly planned for. Your medical system can't handle much more then the current numbers. Lot of people going to be unhappy even if things settle down soon. Until the US has less class inequality, every crisis will remind the...

this is a bear market for 10 years.

Yes the doomsday prophesies are similar to early 2009. I don't think the virus has will have the lasting impact on markets that the subprime mortgage crisis had. Downside will overshoot on panic and fear creating a massive contrarian opportunity even easier to trade then trying to guess the top...

If this is Armageddon why are Chinese stocks only 12% off this year's highs?

It's a clue for those paying attention. I believe the crisis is overblown in terms of the corporate world and the recovery will be massive in nature at some point. Pick and choose quality stocks and you will do very well within 2 years. The yield on many good Canadian stocks destroys GICs.

this is a bear market for 10 years.

And you will be wrong on this. The only way the ATH doesn't get taken out on US indexes in your lifetime is if you die because of the virus within 1-2 years. US markets are global in nature.

US has a lot of uncertainty. But the TSX I'm saying 11600 area was a long term bottom.

I doubt we break 1900 to any lasting degree there is just too much upside potential on many US listed stocks at those levels. I think we get a huge rally at some point this year that most including yourself will totally miss.

this is a bear market for 10 years.

I disagree with every aspect your theory. Huge support for the SPX in the 1900-2000 area similar to the support the TSX already has in the 11500-11900 area. V shaped recovery is almost a lock on US markets once they make a floor. Might be a truncated V until the economy sorts itself out ( eg...

Futures getting killed despite full point Rate Cut

Your theme here is stupid and ignores the realities of our world today. Wake up educate yourself the world isn't all about Americans. Yes, Canada does numerous things better then the US does you are just going to have to learn to accept it. The fact you have the resources to have a better more...
