Tim Geitner announced as Obama's new Treasury Secretary . . . bounce coming?

    Geitner New Treasury Secretary

As reported by NBC news and Andrea Mitchell at 3PM Eastern. And Bill Richardson as the new Commerce Secretary. Market should rally on this news.

Tons of non-believers and horribly negative sentiment on the Street . . . No one believes that this market can rally today . . . THAT'S precisely why it will! :D

The option expiration "pop" at the opening is done. Now we'll really see what the market wants to do. Credit markets are still "frozen" and the XLF and financial stocks continue to reflect that. Difficult to get a sustained rally without the financials.

By the way, the credit markets just traded to an unprecedented historical extreme today, as market participants chased YIELD in the long-end of the Treasury market . . . with the long bond +3 and 3/4's of a point during the day session, and surging yet another 3 POINTS after the 3PM Eastern...

    This isn't capitulation...

I think you watch far too much TV. :D The bottom line is that the stock market is simply reacting to what is going on in the credit markets . . . It's ALL about the Credit Markets! With 1-years trading at ZERO % and the most massive one-day Treasury rally in history where the long bond...

15k rpm Seagate Cheetah vs 10k rpm WD VelociRaptor

Agreed. I had a WD Raptor on an old Dell 8300 and it worked well . . . but it's really not needed for charting/trading platforms since most applications are internet or SSL based. In other words, they are not hard-drive "intensive" applications whatsoever. Put more money into memory. :)

Paulson Has done a Bang up job!!

Yet another Bush appointee "flunkie". The 3-month Tbill rate at 0.015% tells you that Paulson and his TARP has been a complete failure.

What's it really like on Main St, USA now?

Mods, please move this thread out of the TRADING FORUM . . . it has absolutely nothing to do with TRADING.

OIH is off nearly 14% today. Energy names and drillers getting absolutely "ripped". Paulson continues to show the markets that he has very little credibility.

Bipartisan "bail-out" agreement reached for the auto manufacturers. Money must be coming from the Energy bill. Press conference at 2PM Eastern. Putting a bid under the market now.

Mitt Romney Says, "Let Detroit Go Bankrupt"...

Of course I am. German Trader doesn't know what he's talking about . . . Mercedes received $253 million alone in "incentives" in Alabama, $29 million for Honda, $153 million for Toyota, etc.

Oil at $50, Heading to $45 or Lower, WOW WELL AFTER THE FACT its down $100

Yet another typical "cut and paste" article by someone that admittedly doesn't trade for a living. Do you do anything else but sit around watching CNBC for most of the day? What do you do for a living? Are you still in school?

Guess the time of the PPT rally!

    Agreed.

Once again, the EWJ Thread proves to be of superlative value here on ET. We'll be at 800 pages by Turkey Day. Congrats to all who have contributed!

Mitt Romney Says, "Let Detroit Go Bankrupt"...

Yeah, we don't give any corporate tax incentives for BMW to build the X5 in South Carolina, or for Toyota to build the Camry or Avalon in Kentucky. Go figure.

That 837-838 area is certainly a huge WALL right now . . .
