Sleepy Joe did it . Inflation raging . I saw 5 restaurants closed yesterday as no staff

From the Britannica: "Republic, form of government in which a state is ruled by representatives of the citizen body. ... Because citizens do not govern the state themselves but through representatives, republics may be distinguished from direct democracy, though modern representative...

China pushes back against US sanctions with new rules

I was going to give the paper the benefit of the doubt and read it in its entirety when I got on a proper screen in a couple of days. But a quick glance seems to suggest the entire proof of China military involvement in Huawei is 3 resume of individuals who left the military to go work at...

The who? Never forget that we elect our leaders. They are a reflection of our vote and accountable to those who voted for them. When we disparage democracy, we encourage dictatorship.

A question is asked, I answer and you disparage my answer... you have nothing better to do or was the question too difficult to answer?

China pushes back against US sanctions with new rules

Please provide evidence that China's military has a controlling interest in Huawei or ZTE. I suspect under your definition, Boeing, AT&T, Intel and a long list of US corporations would all fall in the US military controlling interest.

You understand that those politicians are elected? Wouldn't a dictatorship be so much better, right? Or is it that you just criticize the politicians you did not vote for, which I'd understand. In this case you need to be more specific .

I'm no economic expert, but if inflation is a result of too much money in the market, wouldn't additional taxes reduce inflation?

It's an American thing to hate government, something passed on from generation to generation and promoted by businesses who don't like government to interfere with their activities. Bitcoin is value created out of thin air, so yes.

First thing i did after watching this was to look for debunks on the web... did you? I'm no economist and have no monetary policy expertise, so right off the bat I knew I couldn't challenge his even simple explanations. But my alarm bells went off when he intimated that government is bad...

    Rat race escape plan

High school friend of mine (40 years ago) and I were reminiscing about our years growing up, how we'd retire on a million dollars, as a dream. Time went on and that million dollars seemed both unattainable and yet somehow less than we'd imagined. Suddenly, in our late 40s we started making...

China pushes back against US sanctions with new rules

I beg to differ. History is absolutely key to understanding the present. Today's US turmoil is tied to history, slavery, confederate flag, lynching, etc.. That's history not going away. Bush taking out Saddam may be barely relevant to you, but it sure is a big deal in Irak depending on if...

China pushes back against US sanctions with new rules

Read the history of Iran for its democratic aspirations. Hint, it predates the Shah who was installed by the US and whose reign of terror led the population to prefer Khomeini! Vietnam, same, read its pre communist history all the way prior to French Indochina. Chile, same, read about...

China pushes back against US sanctions with new rules

It's difficult to communicate with you because clearly international affairs isn't your area of expertise. You voice your prejudices covering them with general knowledge. It would take more time than I care to spend going over each or your incorrect or biased points. I'll let you rant and...

China pushes back against US sanctions with new rules

"Land that Australians have already done the hard work to develop"...?o_O Either you've never been to China, or you've never been to Australia, but that sentence is hilarious. Who do you think built the Australian railway?
