    Tesla 2023

I'm not an economist nor a finance guy but recalling econ 101 from my college years, higher margins are a result of higher demand, not artificial supply constraint as this article states using oil as an example. The higher margins are possible because consumers have had the money (or credit) to...

When all the yakking stops. Oh, and here's the data: Let's see.. Puts Tesla ahead of BMW, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Volvo... Looking to add Nissan, Subaru and VW in 2023. And Tesla only sells EVs.

We only gave back 1 yrs gains of a 12 yr bull mkt yet most think the Bear mkt over

You bring up Japan as example of what can be done, group think. But you're jumping cultures. Japan is a hyper homogenous and conservative country. There's a dark side to it, from the high suicide rate and deaths from overwork, lowest birthrate in the world, its well recognized war time...

The problem I have with your view is its puritanical foundation, a hyper conservative expectation of civil society that has never existed other than in the minds of religious fanatics. But I do agree that America is going to shits; It's the reason I left. Life is too short to waste it on...

Your observation doesn't negate mine. What was once legitimate supply chain issues quickly became an excuse to raise prices on everything because demand exceeded supply.

    Lithium

I invested in several lithium mining stocks back in October 2020 and doing quite well, particularly with ALB (+132%) and SQM (+110%). The others are LTH, JCI and PLL.

Interesting observation from a trader who makes money as a shareholder... Are you not "everyone else"? Too much money has been flooding the economy and much of it went into the market and set it on fire. Conspicuous consumption set inflation on fire and now the feds are cutting the feeding...

    Tesla 2023

Tesla's motor has gone through various iteration since that guy bought and drove his car 1 million miles. I expect the newer one is more dependable in addition to being the most efficient to date on high volume production cars.

LOL, glad to have nearly all the Tesla haters in one thread. Like was pointed out, this is a pre 2020 S with unlimited miles warranty. Tesla was aware that its motor was a weak point and offered the extended warranty. No recalls necessary. My buddy's Porsche 911 required 2 engine...

Happy New Year! Trading goals, resolutions?

Just celebrated the new year in Sydney, wishing you all a fantastic 2023. 2022 was the opposite of 2020 for me. Tough year full of hard lessons which, I hope, will make me a better trader when I return to it. 2023 is predicted to be another hard year for the market and I may just sit this one...
