After 15 years, I finally get it right...

Winning traders, specially for huge money, are incredibly rare. Trolls are abundant

I know most ETers tend to be right wing leaning people but Krugman every once and a while makes a good point http://krugman.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/08/07/a-self-fulfilling-euro-crisis-wonkish/ If Italy is suffering from a liquidity problem THAT would call for the use of the EFSF. The EU...

Just sold all my Fed futures(feb 2012) for 99.905. Upside is almost inexistent and I'm pretty sure at some point people will have delusions about rate hikes. I will be ready to buy if I like what I see at that point

Data suggests QE3 might not come soon http://ftalphaville.ft.com/blog/2011/08/08/646396/the-qe3-pain-threshold/ I agree with these guys but OTOH if there is a recession the threshold will be crossed easily

I always suspected that cool names(Like Google) had more to do with the success of a business than people were aware of. It seems that this is even direct evidence of that http://www.ritholtz.com/blog/2011/08/the-art-of-naming-a-business/ The management books out there won't say it but...

Hussman is calling for a new recession using an econometric model. The odds do seem substantial which would almost certainly lead to QE3, however I find it unlikely that it will come this week, since would have to be an abrupt change for a 1-day meeting without a press conference. More likely...

If Italy is really fiscally sound and will get a surplus by 2013, I REALLY doubt they won't make a bridge loan if their bonds sink

Just goes to show is in effect, bond buying did almost nothing for greece, portugal and ireland and people know it yet the spain and italy buying prospect was enough to pop ES by some 40 points or so

I can't help but to think that the reason the WH wants Geithner to stay is so they can fire him in 2012(before the elections), removing the blame from the new Treasury secretary on the economy(which will happen if he enters right now)

    Brazil debt crisis

I know real estate where I live is so expensive its ridiculous. Cost of living in general is pretty darn high. If there is a trade here is to short the Real after some kind of catalyst(Some kind of real capital flight), I bet there are a LOT of leveraged positions longing the real, anytime you...

Dude there is nothing new about QE or the Bernanke Fed. When the economy weakens the Fed acts, rates are pinned at zero so they buy USTs, if rates were at 5%, they would......hmm....buy USTs to drive rates down(Thats what Greenspan did) The whole world is complaining about something...

The difference is that the QE3 mouthpieces have been calling that for months with no good reasoning behind it other than making political complaints. They have no P&Ls to look at everyday hence their cries are worthless from a trading point of view

It seems to me that the commodity rally unleashed by QE2 lead to some follow through in the core CPI(which reached 1.6%), now its the opposite, RJI is down 12.5% from the top and oil is collapsing in a big way. As a result I'm starting to join more of the QE3 camp as it looks like not just there...
