    TickData - any opinions ?

I'm looking for select tick level price and volume data - both equities as well as futures. Tickdata.com looks pretty good, but I wanted to get some feedback from former or current customers if possible. Value ? Quality ? Service ?

Making A Killing In Index Futures

I totally agree. If he had provided either some statements to demonstrate his success or mentioned his strategies, it could become believable. Since NEITHER were provided, I remain skeptical as well.

Algorithmic Trading for Only $1 Per Trade

It's really interesting to see these platforms embrace Python. What's the advantage I wonder ?

Prop Firm less than 5,000 deposit

Exactly. I was close to a lawsuit and it took 3 months to get my deposit back. Once you park your money at one of these firms, it's tough getting it out. In many cases you are forced to sign a 1 year lock-up agreement.

    Nothing but China ?

Thanks for this....I'm going to check it out.

    Here's my automated trading platform

Absolutely true...there are many crappy trading platforms out there in need of improvement. It would be nearly impossible for him alone to finish development, and then sell or open-source the work. He'd need an army of techies to handle the support aspect.

    Nothing but China ?

Thanks for that eurusdzn..... I wonder how the mini Hang Seng trades movement-wise as compared to the S&P 500 ? I take it the volume is pretty high ?

    Nothing but China ?

I just discovered this: The CBOE has both MCHI and FXI options....but only FXI is really liquid.

http://www.ishares.com/us/products/239619/ishares-msci-china-etf Ah, now I "see it". Big run-up, and now in a sideways pattern. Could break either direction now..... Is this the most liquid Chinese ETF ?

    Nothing but China ?

I have none, but that's not relevant. All of this QE'ing by the central banks is going to end badly. I guess the only remaining question is when ?

    Nothing but China ?

In looking at the Shanghai Composite index, it appears traders are betting on a huge new boom for the Chinese economy. This smells fishy to me.....how best to make a short play on China ?

    Here's my automated trading platform

I think this is pretty impressive....especially for one programmer. However, I've seen the incredibly long amount of time it takes to get these things fully-featured and bug free. Remember Tradestations 2000 ? It was over a million lines of code and they had to scrap it after the original...

Trader accused of high-speed trading to make millions in 'illicit profits'

First of all, he was trading from outside of London, England. Secondly, he did trade from a fast computer that was collocated near a high speed communication trunk. He simply made a remote connection to that computer from his parent's home. Finally, he didn't trade with tremendous frequency...

Algorithmic Trading for Only $1 Per Trade

A very brief review of the docs indicate they have only Minute, Second, and Tick resolution of the data stream. If you want tick bars, you must construct them yourself.....the same if you want 5 minute bars.

Amgen : ready to plunge ?

I'd rather read their brokerage statements to see if this is really true....that one can consistently make money shorting stocks in strong sectors when they start to crumble.

    You've back-tested this theory, right ?

Shorting Biotech ? Man, it's been super-strong. Why not pick another industry like mining or materials .. even consumer discretionary would be a decent short.

Question about weekly options straddles and strangles

I know one trader who purports a 95% win rate by SELLING straddles on the weeklies. I think he is using options on the index ETFs.
