Does anyone have any experience with this firm? I set up a consultation with them, and I'm a bit leery to listen to anyone besides Green. They're suggesting both a C corp and an LLC. The books I have from Green and Tesser advise against C corporations. I'm inclined to play it safe and stick with...

    Quick contribution, conversion, rollover

My goal is to get funds quickly into a Roth IRA at IB (or another daytrading firm.) So the quickest way would be to set up a Roth mini 401(K), since you can take the first $15K of earnings and put it directly in. Then I would immediately convert it to a Roth IRA, then immediately roll the funds...

    Problems with InstaQuote??

My broker sent an email saying that there were problems today. I wasn't trading, so I don't know. I usually don't have problems.

LLC, LP, or none at all?

My accountant told me his firm currently has a trader who is fighting with the IRS re his LLC. I'm not sure what the issue is, but he recommended, until the case is resolved, not using an LLC, but rather a partnership or S Corp.

Van K. Tharp - dropped off the radar?

I'm not sure what to think about Mr Tharp. He did some seminars a few years back with a couple of infomercial guys (Robert Kiyosaki and John Burley)...they seem pretty shady to me. Kiyosaki, well who knows what this guy's saying, if anything? And Burley, a real estate 'guru', comes up with a...

90 min before the open, where can I find a list of stocks Gapping up/Gapping down?

Usually they post these in the 'in play' section close to the open.

Level 2 quotes aren't really level 2 quotes

There are several data providers that show the entire ecn books. Who do you use?

    RML comission

Are you asking whether the commissions include ecn fees? If so, you get charged for removing liquidity, and rebated for adding liquidity.

How do you treat your IRA account?

Are you trading a Roth IRA? When you talk about withdrawing early and paying a penalty, I assume you are speaking hypothetically, if the IRS should challenge your trading an IRA?

Level2 to watch only, Level to order

trtrkk Are you referring to IB when you talk about the level 1 broker? If so, here are a couple of considerations. First, IB does offer level 2, and you can trade through it. I have found it awkward; they still don't offer the ease of use that other brokers have for level 2 trading. Also...

    Accounting Firms

I'm trying to set up a retirement account. I've been told that that's the only way to do it. I'm a little bit afraid to set one up on my own. Is this something you could screw up, and would it be difficult and/or expensive to fix?

    Accounting Firms

Does anyone have experience with any of these firms, good or bad? I currently use Green, but they're too busy to help me set up a corporation. Tesser's not returning my emails. I'm looking for a firm that knows what they're doing, but are more accessible. http://www.daytradertax.com/...

    RediPlus software--Brut book?

I almost forgot, are you allowed to see the quote times in the level 2 display? By quote time, I mean you have the market maker, the price they're bidding or offering, the quantity they're bidding or offering, and then the quote time. Some software packages let you configure your software to...

    RediPlus software--Brut book?

If you currently use RediPlus software, can you tell me whether the Brut book (not just the top level, but the entire book) can be integrated within the market depth window? Apparently they don't give demos, so I have no way to check this out myself.

IB Advisor Friends & Family account

Can you elaborate on the last sentence--about LLC sub-accounts not paying professional data fees. Are you saying that with an FA account you don't pay professional data fees, even though you have an LLC?

    IB--multiple (advisor) accounts

If you have more than one account with IB, how exactly do you specify which account to place trades in? I mean, right now I have a page with stocks I'm watching, and I just click on a price and hit 'T'. Am I going to get a popup window every time asking me which account to apply the trade to? Do...
