The scenario I am about to describe seems to be one of the last sticking points I have to deal with. The attached chart is from just moments ago. I called the last FTT annotated on the chart and marked the pt1. Then the up tape to pt2 occurred and the retrace to pt3 began. All appeared well as...

    I Need More Accountability - Sim P/L

Earlier in this thread I made a comment about "trying anything different". I just posted a great example of "anything different" in the futures thread.

I just had a pretty neat experience and thought it worth sharing. I've had some fairly frustrating attempts at going to the sim. After some help from the arachnid world, helping me to see I was changing resolutions without realizing it, I started this afternoon afresh. While the shift in...

Funny how threads cycle go from DU to FRV of questions over and over:) Here's another: When you draw decreased pace channel I'm curious how you decide which potential pt1's you annotate and which you skip. Example: On today's ES chart your 14:00 bar was a pt1. That type I understand as...

Spyder, These kind of intricate posts really help tell me I'm on track with my thinking process. Thanks so much. One question which appears a bit of a mystery, or I'm a bit blind. You have a pt3 annotated at the top of the flaw bar being discussed as well as the asscociated channel lines...

Your description is the ideal picture of change as identified by an R2R or B2B. For a variety of reasons (things like flaws and the way various programs color the bars, etc) the ideal picture often isn't what you see. Most important is to get your gaussians (red and black lines you draw on the...

It can, depending on what resolution level you're annotating and depending on the market pace. Actually, an R2R or B2B can occur INTRAbar. Most likely, if you are at the beginner or advanced beginner stages, annotations at this fine a resolution are probably not where you want to be.

    I Need More Accountability - Sim P/L

Great morning to answer you guys. I was unable to trade last week, so I make sure I'm in front of the screens at 8:30 Chicago time. I'm raring to go. I decided that this is the week I'd really do sim trading as opposed to just annotating. Then "IT" happens. I get sucked into punching the buy...

Just start noticing how upstream you are. On my cheat sheet, at the very top, is my first analysis question. It's self analysis. I ask myself, "is this an upstream thougth or a down stream thought. Just start doing this. Many will accuse me that this is nothing more than pie in the sky, feel...

Ezzy and Meph.... Please forgive me if this is too far off in the weeds, but I've given a lot of thought to the pm's Ezzy and I had and this post contains to foundational EQ (emotional quotient) stuff that seems to have gotten me over the hump. I request that before you ask any questions...

    Wickless Candles

The simple fact that hypo boy is against it suggests usefulness. Removing the wicks is indeed a valid concept, particularly in light of auction market theory and market profile ideas. Get rid of the wicks and the areas of price acceptance stick out like a sore thumb. I have been doing this on...

URGENT, Secure Device Required for TWS

I suggest you learn the details before you spout off nonsense. You obviously don't have a clue how the device works. I've had one for about a year now and being logged into to TWS wouldn't help me get money out of the account if I don't have my little gizmo.

Ok, that was pretty cool. I had a pt3 just form on the YM before FOMC and got PRV inc red as report came out. S/S went way negative and you could follow S/S all the way down for a 7 to 8 point ride. All the while S/S went back and forth from <-2 to neutral. At the bottom S/S went >2 and up we go.

At the time of the attached image here were my observations: The pt3 up (thin green) was on overall decreasing volume, suggesting a non-dominant traverse. Or, possibly the whole day at this point is a big, sloppy lateral, coming after a gap down; again suggesting that the market is in a...

By as early as mid morning I was anticapating a tight day. As soon as DU volume set in for more than a few bars I more or less moved on to a more suitable project for the day (ie not trading LOL). I still get in trouble on false b/o bars like 12:00. I correct my error by the bar or two, but...

    I Need More Accountability - Sim P/L

This was a big deal for me. Now, if I do as you describe and I don't see something that makes sense either I know I'm not on the right side of the market or I need to walk away from the screens for a bit to recalibrate the old pumpkin. Once you start annotating this way AND mentally drop the...

To me the key is having the correct carry over channel(s) in place. In this case, the last 5 bars of Thursday completed a point 3 channel and the opening bar on Friday was a gap up. That move up on the gap was a sort of instant dominant traverse. Even though the first bar was red on the chart...

Pattern Day trading rule on futures?

I am the most risk averse person you would ever meet. Pulling the trigger takes zero balls if you have faith in your skill. The notion that futures are more dangerous than stocks is an opinion held by those who either have no self control or simply do not understand that leverage in futures...

Pattern Day trading rule on futures?

Not quite. Futures trading is regulated by the CFTC.
