Do you think it's a bad idea to buy a house at this time?

Jim, how accurate are Zillow predictions anyway? You have any experience working with their data? I'm thinking about renting the place for a 1 year lease, but who knows if real estate will bounce back.

Do you think it's a bad idea to buy a house at this time?

Zillow predicts my area to go down 3.2% in 2021 - I don't know, how accurate are Zillow predictions anyway? Looking at interest rates going to be 0% for a while, overall what are your thoughts in general? (yes let's discuss the whole US as I'm not only interested in talking about my zip code)

Does anyone know what's happening to SHOP today?

Biden is already talking about a second wave of lockdowns. So who knows.

Does anyone know what's happening to SHOP today?

Down 9%.. It opened low too. I can't find any news on it. Why isn't SHOP a popular stock on this forum? It's returns are pretty good and definitely a progressive stock. If you can have SNAP, SHAK, and Pintrest topics you can have SHOP too!

Is there a book I can learn about American economics?

For example I didn't know most of the fracking and oil took place in PA.. I knew Texas is big in Oil... I think the US did some deal with Mexico to make avocado's cheaper? lol Every state seems to be famous for making something and this information just seems to appear randomly in articles I...

Trump trade war has failed to boost U.S. manufacturing...

Tell that to Joe Biden who wants to abolish oil and fracking.

Trump trade war has failed to boost U.S. manufacturing...

Remember the latter of what I mentioned. We're just less reliant on China, but nobody says we can't import from other countries. Vietnam is a great contender.

Trump trade war has failed to boost U.S. manufacturing...

I'm confused. PMI that measures specifically manufacturing has been over 50 for years. Also if it didn't "help" much looking at it the other way at least it's not growing? Reversal could take a long time and China is doing everything they can to fight it. Also according to Steve Bannon in an...

Democrats Prepare to ‘Fundamentally Reform’ Capitalism

Wait Jim, are you saying the BLS cherry picks their "samples" to compile their data with?

Democrats Prepare to ‘Fundamentally Reform’ Capitalism

You've been living under a rock if you think the 2 are even the slightest unrelated. The whole landscape is poltical, the market cares more about who's going to win the election more than any economic data right now.

Democrats Prepare to ‘Fundamentally Reform’ Capitalism

How did Trump damage it? Market has been up buy volatile as hell in his 4 years. But all the fundamental data like unemployment and manufacturing has been "The best numbers of our lives" says Jim Cramer pre-covid. I think both did bad because Obama put us on a Globalist path and Trump pulled...

Are they working on daily options for SPY?

You buy SPY PUT 1 SD away on Monday and sell a put that is at the money that expires same day. 3:50pm before market close, cover the put and sell another one at the money that's expiring on Weds. 3:50pm on Weds, do the same thing for Friday. (Now it's just a regular put spread).

    What's income tax?

Thanks for this. So in other words, if I move to Florida and work at Wendy's, I will only be paying federal taxes? Income tax = Federal+State+City. I get it now.

    What's income tax?

They are called accountants. I pay them. I know what I told you. I know what the 3 taxes are I'm just asking if income tax is just another name for those I mentioned. To put it clearly: If a state has no Income tax. Does that mean there is no state tax? Or is this another tax on top?

    What's income tax?

I pay my federal, and state taxes and that is based on my "income". Is that it the same thing? I've went through https://www.investopedia.com/terms/i/incometax.asp but it doesn't tell me if they are the same. I've been told Florida has no income tax? Does that mean there is no state tax and...

Does the fed inflating the dollar help us in the long run?

If we go back to the gold standard gdp would drop to 5%.

Does the fed inflating the dollar help us in the long run?

Sounds a little bias. With all due respect, there are a lot of organizations that gain popularity from selling out bad our economic system is. And not every politician wants to give away more free stuff (i.e. Ron Paul). Some of them want to address our debt problems. With Democrats being the...

Does the fed inflating the dollar help us in the long run?

Money printing needs to be done in order to "replenish credit". That didn't come from me but from Ray Dalio. If we're going to be in a creditless society central banks don't need to exist. If you don't devalue the currency, wouldn't that hurt your exports? Nobody will buy from you.
