What are the Average AUM of Pro Traders?

Proprietary Traders, HF Traders, and Bank Desk Traders are assigned Capital Limits and Risk Limits. Naturally, newbies start out very small but if they are consistent they will get levered quickly. Point being, these private firms will throw as much money at you as you can handle if you are...

Do day trading firms still exist?

Not in futures. The futures prop firms (like DRW, Geneva, etc.) are really more along the lines of a W-2 Employee Hedge Fund model.

Trading and Gaming: Any thing to learn from gaming?

I believe that high level gaming skills are quite helpful to a trader. Having said that - I don't think that a trader with a gaming skill-set is an automatic winner per se. But it certainly doesn't hurt.

Do futures trading and commodity trading distort the spot price in a negative way?

I have traded on a Commercial Physical Energy Desk, OTC Energy Derivatives at a HF, and all of the Nymex/CME and ICE regulated products. Most of what you are saying in this post is subjective gibberish.

So whats up with this sell off 9-20-2021

Those two situations are incredibly different. With LTCM, you had the trade counter-parties (The Investment Banks) unwinding positions and providing offsets. With Evergrande, the counter-parties are disparate entities in other parts of the economy: concrete companies, appliance companies...

    Gold/Silver Ratio issues

Just my opinion - you really can't calculate a realistic probability. The correlation between Gold and Silver is high but by no means perfect - if you run into some disconcerting Central Bank or Economic News there can be a rather severe co integration issue that could conceivably stop you out...

How can a contract move with volumes of 0?

It's a great idea to study a futures contract exchange specifications and settlement procedures details. I quote: "If a two-sided market is not available on Globex during the closing period, then the cash index will be used in the following Carry calculation to derive a settlement price."

Nixon Shock: 50 Years Ago Today

Actually, a good case is frequently made by economists that decoupling from the gold standard has given the United States outsized prestige and leverage as a World Reserve Currency. About sixty percent of worldwide transactions use US Dollars.
