    UNG Saga

Can't show this to you. Since most of commodity futures are in contango fro the last couple of years. THIS info is widely available since this is recent history/current event: http://seekingalpha.com/article/114288-commodities-roll-yield-in-2009 When I referred to my hunch (even out), it...

    UNG Saga

If the info may be in public domain, what is wrong with asking about it? Is not this what forums are for? On the other hand if this is considered cutting edge research or paid research then it is a different story.

    UNG Saga

Thoughful responses. I wonder if someone can point to some studies on losses/gain from near month contract roll over (for NG or anything else)?? For a period of 30 years. I have (unproven) hunch that over a period of time contango/backwardation negate each other, and even very crude roll...

    UNG Saga

Can you elaborate? Contango? Day trader does not care, and long term investor can handle this, since contango may reverse and his risk/reward perspective is different. Premium over underlying? 2% for UNG is no big deal Those are 2 major news items. Not sure if they put 100% into...

U.S. apartment vacancies near all-time high

While I saw a lot of new contstruction, it would be foolish to draw conclusions on small sample of data. Thin slicing does not always work. This article provides more data points and thus is useful.

    Historical market cap data

Is there a way to see what market cap stock/etf had at a given time? It can be useful in seeing the trend in money flow (in/out). Ideally it should be charted along with price. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Sorry, Jim Rogers, You Were Wrong About Inflation

Bad, but better then what we have now. Why a need to create money/inflate? I recall 2 core arguments: a) to better manage economy and give it boost when needed. They forget about a bust and that whenever you introduce additional variable (management) into the system (currency) you...

Sorry, Jim Rogers, You Were Wrong About Inflation

How can there be no inflation and , at the same time, a decrease in purchasing power of currency (as stated above)?? I am using a standard definition of the word... In economics, inflation or price inflation is a rise in the general level of prices of goods and services over a period of...

Sorry, Jim Rogers, You Were Wrong About Inflation

Of course they are right, since inflation is a true long term policy. In relatively short term (20 years?) the policy is to create business cycles via control of $. As some have noted here and in other threads, it is likely that some assets will deflate while others inflate.

Sorry, Jim Rogers, You Were Wrong About Inflation

You disproving statement Rogers newer made. He newer called a bottom, neither in stock nor in commodities. All he said, that after deflation is over inflation comes next with commodities leading rally (AG with biggest risk/reward ratio). And you should know that he is the first to say that...

Letter by Soros and some thoughs

Here is what is interesting to me. Few months back he mentioned that more regulations are coming. He also mentioned that as a result 2/3 of current hedge funds will go out of biz due to inability to trade on smaller leverage. So more downside across the board starting now? ------------------...

Comparing the Great Depression to today

Yes. Why such basics are misunderstood? What was the reason for fractional reserve banking in the very very first place? Back then it did not even have a special/fancy name. It was planly a dishonest banking. Why what was called cheating before has a fancy name now? Oh, I see - has...
