Does your broker forbid withdrawals till the trade settles??

With IB & TD Ameritrade, my quite clear recollection is I have been able to draw funds freely, and that TD Ameritrade had said they would merely charge interest over those few days, which would be fine if at least the broker would offer this!

Does your broker forbid withdrawals till the trade settles??

See the message below I got from my broker regarding trying to withdraw funds, that requires a 3 day wait. Is this something knew? I have never had this problem before! We have received your request for withdrawal. However, due to a recent trade in your account, we will not be able to...

Difficulty with buying certain low priced stocks at bid (e.g. CTIC)?

Hence it's amazing to me why the displayed size which stands before me never seems to decrease much as time passes. Perhaps it's price improvement orders for a fraction of a penny going through first?

Difficulty with buying certain low priced stocks at bid (e.g. CTIC)?

    1. What do you mean by double-printed? Are these real trades? 2. I thought displayed orders get filled before reserve or hidden orders (After posting this I just realized giggolo posted the same thing in response to the moderator). If so, it doesn't explain how it seems I'm not getting closer...

Low priced, volatile, and quality stocks like CTIC

CTIC in my opinion is an amazing stock to trade in terms of quality (with breakthroughs regarding cancer treatement to bring price resilience), volatility, and low priced stock. Please share other ideas of same. Thank you.

Difficulty with buying certain low priced stocks at bid (e.g. CTIC)?

A&B) When my bid sits there a long time you would think I should move towards the front of the list; it doesnt seem to happen though. C) What do you mean by point C (which seems distinct from point B)? Let's say Thinkorswim routes me to NASDAQ, or if I choose ARCA (by placing the order as an...

Difficulty with buying certain low priced stocks at bid (e.g. CTIC)?

71 million shares have traded today. The level 2 shows on a typical best bid/ask only about 100k shares, and there are times in the day it can sit there a long time. Hence, I think there is more to it than what you are saying.

Difficulty with buying certain low priced stocks at bid (e.g. CTIC)?

On 30k shares, that's $300 more roundtrip--relative to the medium price, and I'd rather to open the trade up the $300 and not down the $300.

Are there not any experienced & active retail stock traders that have survived?

Difficulty with buying certain low priced stocks at bid (e.g. CTIC)?

I was trying to buy CTIC at bid, but it seems it's impossible, unless the ask price caves in on me. Is this a function of the broker I am using? Of the fact I am a retail trader and can't cut in front of others by a fraction of a penny? What is the issue here?

Danger w/ certain brokers for (outstanding) LEHMQ vertical spreads?

I asked Thinkorswim, but it seems they don't offer this service you mentioned of taking it off one's hands. Where did you hear about such a thing?
  18. O

Danger w/ certain brokers for (outstanding) LEHMQ vertical spreads?

Thinkorswim intraday showed the account value as negative millions--and their computer would block trades. IB and TOS value the account based on the average price between bid & ask. IB has auto-liquidations!

Danger w/ certain brokers for (outstanding) LEHMQ vertical spreads?

On LEHMQ you can only sell closing positions, hence there is not much competition on certain ask prices to sell. Question: If a person had bought (i.e. before the bankrupcy) the 20 calls for LEHMQ with Jan 2010 expiration, and sold the 25 calls, currently: the 20 calls are selling for 1...
