My personal experience shows 3x etf is not a fair game

These leveraged ETFs are synthetically pegged to the underlying with options, and options come with decay so you are bound to lose if you "buy and hold" them. Its particularly horrendous for UWTI because CL is in deep contango, the 12 month contango was nearly $10 back in Jan, currently CLZ...

Run the LOSER, cut the WINNER

You need specific rules on when to get out of a trade, get out if those rules are met, doesn't matter if you didn't cash in your puts right at the bottom, nobody can predict bottoms/tops consistently. Anyway the Vix got smashed this morning, so I think you didn't do too bad.

    2014: The Battle for Survival

I don't think volatility is the issue since you don't sell options, it has something to do with the way you bet on mean reversions. This isn't your first massive loss from trying to fade a very strong move.

Why didn't the stock market crash on 26Aug16 after stronger case for interest rate hike?

Fed fund futures barely moved, the market doesn't believe that a sept hike is coming and the odds of dec move is still only 50/50.

Fridays market meltdown and "Word of Advice" from OptionGuru

Technical analysis is just another way of reading market sentiment i.e risk off/on. It does not lead the market but it gives you clues on roughly where the market is headed.

Fridays market meltdown and "Word of Advice" from OptionGuru

That was an exhaustion gap, the market had been moving sharply lower prior to the final gap. This gap was made off fresh multi month highs, in fact it was only a few points away from an ATH. This smells and looks like a breakaway gap, and breakaway gaps typically do not get filled quickly.

    The Brexit Trade...

Has nothing to do with the UK economy. This is about the destabilisation of the EU, the fear is that other countries will follow UK out of the EU now that there is a precedent. I'm not 100% convinced that this will happen, most EU countries are stuck because they are also in the eurozone, its...

This is almost certainly a breakaway gap that will not be filled any time soon, I think this goes much lower.

Brexit odds at bookies vs polls vs trade

So predictable, this is almost too easy. Will there be a "buy the rumour, sell the fact" kind of reaction to the outcome of the referendum?

Turning $15K credit card debt into financial freedom

I hope you are just trolling, otherwise I feel really sad for you. Undercapitalised traders all blow up eventually, you will not make it trading such high leverage with borrowed money.

Gotta love ZERO RISK in the SP500 = $$$

Even a move to 2100 would still place the SPX within its range, this is a very tough spot to short because it looks like the SPX is breaking out to all time highs and beyond again, but fundamentally there is just no good reason for stocks to move higher from here. Fed raising rates is a pretty...

    Miserable trading market

Don't get what you are ranting about. Volatility is down in the S&P but it isn't the case for the nikkei (that thing crashed like 10% in 2 days), and yes the dollar is garbage but what is stopping you from selling it? Its down huge in the last few weeks vs the euro and yen. There are certainly...

Ha....buffet said ifff the fed were to keep rates at 0% for the next 50 yrs, Dow would go to 100,000

Japan has a demographics time bomb, they aren't even replacing themselves so that isn't a valid comparison. I too believe that the Dow will head much higher if interest rates stay at 0% forever, but its likely to be accompanied by another large devaluation of the dollar.
