hi there. any ideas on books about trading spreads? my target at first will be cattle futures spreads and lean hogs for starters. no options right now. thanx very much!

i would start with the ym contract. does i t have to be stock indexes? bond futures would be my pick:)

mahram: do you think mr.harper will lower the capital gains tax? they better not raise it.lol.you never know with these guys. i'm going to lobby for them to change all futures trades as a tax rate of .05%.:D

can you email them? then you have a record also. it will probably take them days to respond but better then sitting on the ph.

i use a spreadsheet and keep records. there are programs out there that do it easier than that also. depends on how many trades you are doing.

and how about the industrial metals! i can't understand how there is no inflation

the cattle markets don't seem to care much. is demand that strong cause with the japanese problem and now mad cow detection in canada i expected something to move but today was pretty limp. i guess if R-calf manages to get a judge to close the border then that might have an effect.

too bad you didnt get arrested in canada. a tought sentence would have been probation and a small fine.

i hope they add copper also.

i've just started poking at hogs and cattle. so far i've done well but i need to learn a whole lot morefor sure. usually i stick with bonds canadian 10yr,US 10-2 and JGB's. sometimes i go at stock indexes but my confidence there is lacking. i only trade 5-10 contracts so i'm not a market...

i had a plan to sell er2 at 717-718,which i did but i suffer from ppt(pre-mature profit taking) and covered at 714.still,i dont complain.i had gold on the watch list but it just confused me. maybe some selling ops in live cattle but the day is running out and dont want to hold over the weekend...

hi. is the bond markets ignoring the supply that will be coming out? to me the supply is rather large or is it? or are bonds just getting a safe haven bid and thats that.

kastro- do you work out just before bed? i find it keeps me awake if i do it too late. do you take any vitamins with the shake? anyway some natural type of sleep help i sometimes use is:st.johns wart,5-htp and calcium/magnesium.
