Really excellent handicappers will get you above 60% winners with close to 1 : 1 payoff. That works out to about a 40% edge, certainly worthwhile in the trading world...

Just out of curiosity, how many of you like to wager on sports (NFL, MLB, NHL etc)? My past careers have been in trading and I find the fields similar, speculative but while utilizing strong risk management...beatable.

You traded really, really well for the first half of '08 and have come off a bit. You just stated the problem. To me it seems as simple as going back to doing <i>exactly</i> what you were doing then. Back in your old posts you mentioned not day trading at all and getting your discipline...

Rashid, Also, out of curiosity do you every go back over your trades back when things were going really well? Seeing how many trades you took per day (more selective maybe?) I keep a trading log and it helps to go back through and review my thoughts from the strong performance periods.

110 seems very logical-just check the longterm trendline...that was the target I wrote down a few weeks ago. I have been in the trend for a little while so I can withstand a reasonable correction-I don't think I would short oil or get long airlines at this point unless it was very short term...
