Thanks Robert and Jack. Guess I’m just trying to think of the worst case scenario with these 1099's and maybe mtm might be "insurance" to avoid future hassles. Maybe I should not worry about it and just wait for my amended 1099.

I should also mention that I only trade equities and also could claim trader status.

Electing Mark-To-Market to avoid future 1099 troubles? Does this make sense to anyone? Any MTM guys also having these 1099B issues?

I never had any prophetic market dreams however I consistently solve problems and come up with ideas in dreams. Have been this way my entire life and have no idea why. Waking up in the morning with a new idea or a solved problem is a great feeling.

Invention of micro edges is by far my most important. Number 2 would be putting a sh*t load of real trades under my belt. Never once did 4,5 or 6 which is strange now that I think about it , trading non-stop for 5 years.

Wow, I wrote a program specifically to mute out CNBC blather and commercials. Can’t stand that crap. If you are having trouble staying focused that could very well be your problem. As a start I would recommend turning the volume to the absolute lowest audible level.

You might also want to try setting up different work areas. I use 3…one standing area, one sitting and one yoga ball where I use a projector for a screen. I think the variance in eye to screen distance helps(or maybe it’s just psychological, I’m not sure).
