Trading should start as a hobby, then grow into something more. People who quit there job and start trading to replace their income are in for a horrible wake up call. Most full time traders have been at it for years and eventually move out of a job to full time trading.

Noticed a bearish reaction in the futures after the 25 basis point hike. Markets have recovered nicely since. Looking for opinions on longer term effect, next 2-6 months, on the overall markets. Thanks

Losses come with this job, there is no mechanical way to deal with it. 60k hurts anyone. I usually just look forward and am happy I did not lose all of it. Human nature is hard to fight, your gonna be stressed. Just don't try to make it all back at once, thats where you lose even more...

Thats a tall order! The problem you will have is not being able to absorb volatile movement. To small of an account. I guess you could try the FX market .......... at least for the leverage.

It could be put contracts being closed, selling to close puts wont have as big of an impact on volatility as put buying. The majority could be expecting a bounce of some sort.

I think of a bust cycle as a big reset button, its great to catch the boom, but be aware everything retraces back to a mean. I hope this last move can lower some outrageous prices back to realistic levels. I am reminded of the dot com boom, laptops used to sell for 5k+ now you can get one...
