I hear ya but you know the irony of that is that reading "Mr Know it all" posts is an exercise in psychology itself and many of us in this thread failed by going for the bait and actually validating and perpetuating his efforts to degrade, insult, attempt to outwit or outshine other...
I dont think trading is something that can only be broken down into what appears to be the obvoius components such as money management, fundamentals, pyschology and/or a few technical indicators....whatever.
Tons of books out there have been written on trading and yet there are some things...
Even if there were firms that would allow you to come in with no deposit and no license, they would most likely rape you in the form of commissions and/or profit splits. This would make it virtually impossible to make any real money and they know it all too well but thats their business model...
Ironically, its exactly one of the reasons I chose to do it.
I don't want a proffession where there is no challenge in becoming successful. Money aside for a moment, if any Joe or Mary can do it then there is no real sense of accompolishment.

Good point but maybe thats how she stumbled upon the idea in the first place. i.e. the proverbial light bulb lit up while she was teaching her own kid and the kid's friends how to cook. My guess is that she has a majority of relatively wealthy clients who could not be bothered to teach their...

The group A trader is truly a rare breed but chances are you would not know one if he were standing in front of you. There is no distinguishing characteristic or behavior pattern that will give him away. They blend into a crowd very well and nobody knows there is a big S under that shirt and...
Only live trading will teach you what you need to know in the context in which you need to know it. Textbook knowledge, back testing and money management is one thing but only live trading can teach you the other important element ...Psychology.

I think there are essentially 3 things that need to be in sync in order to be a successful trader... but not necessarily in the following order...
1) entry exit strategy
2) mental discipline to carry the strategy i.e. not easily spooked by minor market fluctuations while attempting to ride...
I'm not a millionaire trader but probably would not claim to be one if I were. I initially came to ET to learn but I've resigned on that notion a while back and now get most of my information from books. I now come to ET mostly for entertainment.
Every once in a while I read something thats...
