You know how he operates... he scales out about every 5 points or so... he probably took BE on half the position.. Knowing him, I would highly doubt he takes any swing long positions... especially anything requiring overnight holds on the long side.

I am no expert on CD. Thru my amateur lens w/ respect to CD... it looks like longs have built up... accumulation for a new rise to challenge 950. In any event, "vanilla" style market analysis would tell us... that market support is still alive and kicking. Buying out of the 870's from...

Looks good Mr. Stocks. IMO, markets can take on these characteristics: Trendy vs Rangey, Volatile vs Quiet. And of course, this all depends on what timeframe you are inspecting as well.. If you can deal with all permutations of the market and still produce 6 pts a day on average. You're...

That brings up a good point. AMT4SWA: Do commercials holding positions fight against each other? In your view of market mechanics, is there a group of commercials standing ready to buy low while a different group is ready to sell high? Or is your market viewpoint that of the "collective smart...

He doesn't calculate it and doesn't care. He's used the same carsize for quite some time now. He likes that his risk (per equity) has steadily decreased over time.

I think there is a great deal of discretion in his methods. He has a certain feel for the market that seems to dominate his trading decisions. That is just my impression. A better description of his trading style is documented in the 400+ pages of his blog. His risk management style seems...

Their two styles are very different. I cannot say that they are similar, except that the two traders are both very successful. D.M. is a scalper. AMT is primarily a discretionary swing trader, who runs ATS on the side. They use very different edges in the market to achieve the same end...

You should know AMT better than that... He rarely... if ever, posts long trades. And if he does, its just a scalp. He doesnt like Swing Longs. As the gentlemen said, he's sitting on a hefty short position from 950 and waiting for more carnage as he continues to scale out.

To Manlycure: JL: "...the big money was not in the individual fluctuations but in the main movements- that is, not in reading the tape but in sizing up the entire market and its trend."

Proud to be an American... by excercising my rights to run thru a few boxes of 9mm, .40. and .45 yesterday at the local shooting range =) Btw, Don Miller was a gracious host, very good guy. Hard working, intense, quite sharp. Just got back from my East coast road trip...
