Let me save you some time. Check your CPU and Memory usage tomorrow in the resources monitor . Do a CRtl Alt Del , Task manager , performance. First check to see how much CPU usage and Memory TWS is using when open , then see what happens when you open different charts change stock symbols ...

A full windows install is a big deal and this might not even be the issue , you should start with a clean TWS install which would also mean cleaning out his registry. Based on what you have said said his system seems fine. When was the last time you cleaned up your registry ?
