    ECN brokerage discussion

    1. Visit country of second citizenship for a couple weeks. 2. Open LLC-like there. Open forex account with offshore broker as an institution (using LLC account and your data of THAT country). 3. Move back to US. 4. Trade forex as of that LLC. 5. Keep all profits at that LLC, pay LLC's taxes...

What forex brokers already have platforms running on Android ?

FXCM and Oanda. I like FXCM app more, but as a broker Oanda is much better.

    ECN brokerage discussion

It is soooo good to have dual citizenship :) I'm a lucky one. US govt specifically targets middle class so we never can get out of rat race. Remember? First they limited stock day trading to a minimum $25K to open an account. So you cannot start lower - you should already be rich. Now they...

    FIX vs API

Yes, I confirm - FIX is very slow. On another hand, APIs are not much faster (at least thwe ones I used), plus you need to include execution time. But anyway, I'd say, go with the API - with proper program structure it is matter of few days to add/change new broker API.

    Some basic math reminder

The reason why I decided to get to this is that I regularly see how people forget math basics and try to convince others based on wrong assumptions. For example, in (another yet) recent discussion about (another) "best indicator" the following false logic was used: 1) If indicator A gives you...

    Edge types, efficiency, etc

I guess, no one will give you details on their successfull operations, as this equals to the loss of the income. You need to find out your own...

    Edge types, efficiency, etc

OK, I didn't read all 11 pages :), but here what comes from my experience: 1). Never trade long. Intraday is the max you can afford. Reason - nobody knows what will happen overnight. For example (and I take it to the extreem), company can close business overnight, and all...

    International market online broker

From their fees description: "For foreign stocks not traded in the U.S., add $50 per trade". So at best they do $50 + $8 = $58 one way. About 2-3 times higher than ETrade for the same thing, unless you trade on HK or UK market - in that case, I don't know how (if) Fidelity absorbs 0.1%...

    International market online broker

Hi! Based on probability on enacting 0.25% tax on trade transactions in US, I decided that 'warned is armed', so it's time to prepare for the worst. Currently I'm with Ameritrade, but they don't have international stocks trading ability. So far for me it looks like E*Trade has reasonable...

New Petition Against the Financial-Transaction Tax

I can't believe they are doing this - right after my program started to bring me money! I guess, you never can win playing by the rules. Honesty never pays off. Oh well, in this case I'll have to switch to Asian trade centers or Forex. Or just rob govt same way govt robs us.

    Shame on me

OK, after half of the year of automated trading with real money, I must admit: shame on me. Out of three strategies (one found on this forum, two found by my program) only one left that really works. Guess, which one? Right, the one I found here  Darn! Am I stupid or what? Well, at...

    any Americans living abroad? taxes?

Actually, after creation of Homeland Security Evil Agency I will anytime trust my assets to any Brazil bank over US or "western" bank. As for commission rates - for Forex they are very competitive. Donno for US securities. I'm watching very closely to BRIC countries development. While I...
