    Portfolio margin acting strange?

Hi folks. I lurk here from time to time. It's been a long journey but sometime ago I finally qualified for portfolio margin (PM). In fact I have been using it for a while now and quite like it, the only issue is I haven't experienced any major drawdown using PM so all was good when it was good...

    Trading bonds with Optionsxpress

I have an IB account, but I am an Australian client with corporate account. For whatever weird reason, I cannot trade bond using IB and I cannot even request the trading permission. Most major brokerages don't serve Australian clients these days, with OptionsXpress being an exception.

    Trading bonds with Optionsxpress

Anyone has experience trading bonds with Optionsxpress? Is bond marginable in Optionxpress like Interactive Brokers? Are certain bonds excluded from trading due to low credit rating? Many thanks!

    Bollinger band alert

Hey. I am looking for a free platform that allows an alert to be sent to my email when stock price touches the lower band. If such platform doesn't exist, how about an alert for price crossing below the SMA? I know Zignals has this free, but the stock quotes seem inaccurate. Thanks for sharing.

Should they just have printed debt free money?

There're always 2 sides to a coin. One of the 'big fish' they caught not long ago is a railroad minister who embezzled about $200 milion. No wonder he is always a yes man to any projects, since he always get to have a cut. Same thing happened in South East Asia, where most big projects are...

Should they just have printed debt free money?

Spot on with that. If China corners the commodities market, which I believe it is working on that, then yuan will be strong. True. China's economic pathway is different than US. I believe it is working towards a socialist utopia, but is finding it hard for the transition. It is making US a...

Should they just have printed debt free money?

Printing money for spending is moral hazard using the terms of economics. Actually this is what has already happened. America want to spend what it cannot afford, so it prints money by selling government bonds. China buys a lot of those bonds. Many American institutions buy those bonds too. In...

    Miner makes $200k per year

A few job postings really don't mean anything. The Australian experience is that I have heard a lot of folks talking about getting into mining due to the loaded salary as well as massive youth unemployment, but in reality I have yet to see anyone that has actually gotten in. I have seen some...

    Miner makes $200k per year

It's funny to see how people would react to this article with jealousy, anger, hopeful optimism and what not. As an Aussie, I can tell you this is a very misleading article, just like the many that have already been written out there. Mining only hires about 2% of total workforce in Aus...
