The SEC on Wednesday unanimously voted to allow stock exchanges to price many shares in increments of half a cent, rather than the current minimum size of 1 cent, aiming to promote more competitive pricing and reduce investor costs on U.S. equities markets. The SEC's decision not to include...

Is it ethical/legal for brokers to add mark up on exchange fees?

Brokers can charge any fees they want to as long as they disclose the fees. Just outright state which brokers and what the fees are. I know of only one broker that does not pass on the CBOE SPX option fee.

Margin compensation on the SP 500

How about you buy an ES put on the same contract month and see if your margin changes. You do realize that long an ES contract and long an ES put is the same as long an ES call. You save on commissions and spreads by just buying the ES call.

Best Brokers that allow exposure to S&P500?

You don't appear to realize that "The Maximum leverage possible Smallest minimum deposit" is the exact best way to blow up your account. Out of the money 0DTE index/ETF options match your request and are available at any stock broker.

    CME Membership Lawsuit

The legal case is more about priority access for exchange members. When you traded in a pit or on an early GLOBEX machine you were able to execute orders before any member of the public could. Now the person/firm with the best technology gets their orders in first.

Using T-bills as collateral for futures trading?

Talk to Advantage Futures. They have access to 21 exchanges. For t bills probably need minimum 100K account and no more than 90% allowed in t bills. They will sell a 10K bill or more if your cash balance drops below 10% on any day.

SIPC Coverage on Short Sell Proceeds?

If you are speculating in stocks, especially doing short sales, your capital is at risk. If you use a well capitalized brokerage firm you don't worry about the SIPC. Every day people put their money into ponzi schemes, penny stocks and 0DTE options. Don't think those people worry about the SIPC.

SIPC Coverage on Short Sell Proceeds?

"What SIPC Protects The limit of SIPC protection is $500,000, which includes a $250,000 limit for cash." Cash is cash. The SIPC doesn't care how the cash got into the account. Why are you even concerned about this? Investors with multi million dollar accounts don't waste their time even...

All the suckers love to buy near the peak of the latest craze. Selling overpriced junk makes big money for Wall Street. Coppering suckers bets has worked for over 150 years.

    CME Membership

You need to work with a CME clearing firm that knows the application process. Don't try to do it on your own. Any past financial irregularities will cause denial. Do you really need a full CME membership? Most trader only need an IOM or IMM membership.

S&P Equal Weight Index Severely Underperforms In 2023

The S&P 500 index is going to outperform the equal weight version of the index this year by the largest percentage difference since 1998. The S&P 500 is up about 24% in 2023, while the equal-weighted index is up about 12%. Have to wonder how many years for mean reversion?

Schwab Passing On Index Option Fees

Schwab will start passing on index option fees on top of the 0.65 option commission. Does Fidelity pass on index option fees on top of the 0.65 option commission? Any other brokers not passing on index option fees?
