Why do you think there will be very low vola for all financials this year? Just curious.

Where's the volatility? This is the 2nd week of January but it feels more like August or December. Small ranges. Slow intraday price action. Tiny intraday swings. Seems like after the big afternoon rally on 1/3, we've been mired in this crap.

Anybody know when the Russell Microcap index will be disseminated on an intra day basis? There is now an Ishares ETF (IWC) based on this index. Thanks

Any thoughts on how volatility will be for stock indices next week and this summer? Compared to 02, 03, and 04 this week's volatility has been very low.

Yep, that is me... enjoying a trendless day! In the past 10 years 72% of trading days were whipsaw days. 82% of the days had a meaningful reversal (retracement) during regular market hours, 94% of days had at least one opportunity to break even on the reversals. And ... only 6% of trading days...

Funny!. I wonder though, what would happen if CME changed the E-mini ES tick size from 0.25 to 0.1 like the bigs? Would vol increase or decrease? Would it be easier to scalp?

I am in total agreement. Look at the price bar overlap in these charts this morning. Wouldn't expect this on NFP morning.
