The problem I can see with this is deciding which neighbor I dislike the most.

    Get a generator...

If I installed a 230 volt outlet at the panel with it's own circuit breaker, I would use an outlet, breaker and wire size that was consistent with the gen set output rating. In many cases, the standard RV or boat shore power components can be used, but the rated capacity must not be exceeded...

    Get a generator...

In my case, no one else knows where I keep my little adapter wire that provides the male end to male end gender changer that fits the gen set. Then there is the warning tag on the 220 breaker for the gen set that says turning it on while the main breaker is on will burn the house down...

I just installed a 220 outlet and breakers at my panel to back feed the gen set. Turn off the main breaker and any other breakers that will overload the gen set. My gen set has a 220 outlet, so it feeds both legs of my panel. Turning the main breaker off is an ABSOLUTE MUST.

    Evolving Strategy

Writing a complete specification of an adaptive algorithm in simple English is the most difficult part of of developing it. Writing the code is the easy part. :)

    Evolving Strategy

Some of the best ideas I have seen regarding adaptive algorithms came from some of my old (1966) college text books on analog computers that use feedback loops to alter the characteristics of their pre-amps and filters.

I purchased the battery for $20.00 in Lake City, CO from a camper who was rebuilding his solar system. He switched to a gel battery system. These CAT batteries seem to last quite a long time if a charger is used that can remove the sulfation from the plates and they are rejuvenated two or...

    Get a generator...

I never back feed my generator into my panel without first breaking the seal and pulling my meter to isolate my house from the grid. I also throw my main breaker to off for additional insurance.

There are monitors, a server, and network switch running on the UPS too. Nine hours is a conservative time, because I don't like to deep cycle the CAT battery too far. In addition, the battery was used when I bought it. Anytime the main power is off for more than 2 hours, I use an...
