What are you suggestions as far as brokers go?

I saw that you are using the IB API to trade. I am in the process of completing software to manage my trades and need to pick a broker with an API. I am based in the U.S. but am able to set up an account with a foreign entity, if need be. I want the best broker to start off with so I don't have to start over.
