Red warning on the charts popped up today stating the charts were disconnected. My TWS quotes then went out. Gave up trying to contact IB by phone and used chat. They refreshed my market subscriptions and it started working again. They said it's a issue on their end.
Nice trade BMW
I'm guessing you took the trade on the trend line break from Fri around 2267.50 up to this mornings 2273.
Do you take in consideration the 30 min support/resistance at around 2270 before the trade?
KTS
What are you looking for when you go long or short? I know you trade on price action, but watching the NQ (1 min chart) I don't see any HH, LL etc. Just real choppy up and down almost in a range.
I guess you didn't read this part
He's buying one contract at 38.2%, three contracts at 50%, and five contracts at 61.8%, his stop loss is the 100% retrace, and his profit target the 0%.
My orders aren't going through. I'm on hold right now with IB.
Just spoke with IB, they said there is a problem with the TF futures and they are working on it.
I enjoy reading your journal. I have 3 questions if you don't mind.
Were you following the rules to your original setup?
When you took today's 2 trades, what was the trin doing?
Why did you have 2 separate open orders?
Quote from eminitrader007:
I find it lot easier to get 8-10 points going long. Once we close below 880 in ES, I'll take short trades too but the set-up is a little different.
If you find the time, what's the difference in the short setup vs long.
Thanks for the clarification. Nice entry point. Do you not like ninjatrader charts vs IB charts?
Ninja is free and you can do a lot more vs IB charts. You can even adjust the indicators to update off of each tick or the standard using the close of each bar. Keep up the good work.
Ref. your last trade. The MACD was below zero, however the fast line was above the slow line. Wouldn't this violate your rules requiring the fast line to be below the slow line for a short?
