It's great client service that you do not charge a fee the first day.
Do your systems flag an account as being under margined at 4:15PM ET as opposed to 4:55PM ET? Do you ever margin liquidate or send a margin call notice to clients at 4:15PM ET? Thanks for the input.
That's not the point but thanks for the useless input. The entire point of margin is to use it for intraday trading. The point of this thread is that the timing for "intraday trading" is not what one would expect at TradeStation. One would expect the rule is to be fully margined by the time...
This is what I expected the rule to be. Be fully margined by 5PM ET (or a few minutes before). That is why I have twice been caught off guard by TradeStation's fully margined by 4:15PM ET rule.
I contacted AMP and they have the same rule as Cannon Trading: must be fully margined by 4:55PM...

Do all brokers end their intraday margin rates at 4:15pm ET? If you're negative at 4:15pm ET, do...
Just a heads up that TradeStation is now charging a $75 liquidation fee no matter the number of contracts. They've always had this fee but I'd never been charged it before despite having a margin call notification. I was told it's now policy to always charge the $75 fee for margin calls...
Thank you all for this information. I’ve decided to only use stop markets from now on. It’s definitely not worth the risk of missing the limit order and being forced to wait till the market sorts itself out.
Thank you all for the diversity of answers! That's exactly what I was looking for. I'm still waiting to get flamed though. It wouldn't be a first post here without that. :D
I called it a "mini flash crash" but the correct terminology is stop running, as schizo mentioned. Now that I know the...
During sudden drops in ES (e.g., drop of more than 3-4 ticks in a second), how effective is a stop with a limit 2 ticks lower during the day? How about at night? I'm guessing not very effective but I don't have personal experience with it, so I'm looking for everyone's experience with getting...
