I use the 24 hour high/low and settle prices. Just go to the exchanges to find these prices CBOT/CME in the case of YM/ES. Or you could just chart both and watch them for a couple of weeks and see which one 'works' best. Obviously nothing is airtight, but pivots help in determing decision...

To OP: It sounds like your trying to force the trade. Correct me if I'm wrong, unless you have a strategy that is in and out of the market over a dozen times in 1 day. Using indicators when the market ranges like the ER2 today will most likely tell you to enter when the move is already...

I would only use indicators to confirm an entry after the fact. What may be more helpful is to identify support/resistance zones and then watch price action as it approaches and what it does there.
