    Backtester for C++

    @thefairarbiter Maybe you could consider running your backtests on a trading platform that runs on C++. I would recommend Sierra: it is fast, stable, and interfaced for c++.

    Cheap VPS located in Chicago area

    I have spent many hours looking for a solution before beginning this thread on ET. I have observed that Chicago was a very expensive location for a VPS, compared to other cities. I want to avoid AWS, Google and the like. Unless you pay large subscriptions, you get a low-end black box system...

    Hi, I would like to run several tests on a VPS located near Chicago (less than 100 miles). My hardware requirement is pretty basic : 2 cores, 4GB RAM, 100 GB SSD, 2TB data. Can anyone suggest a provider for about <30$ /month ? Ideally it would be great if it were located in Equinix Chicago...

    Any good reason to use index CFDs given the emergence of E-micros? Are index CFDs obsolete?

    MrPuppet, I am not promoting CFD. Myself I trade futures. As a scalper I would loose if I traded CFD with my current technique. But CFD have a few features that futures do not have, especially regarding hedging. When one places large size orders one understands what liquidity means for CFD...

    Any good reason to use index CFDs given the emergence of E-micros? Are index CFDs obsolete?

    They can be traded 24/7 against 22.75/5 for US futures. They never expire. I have never heard of my cfd broker (IG) to be down. CME servers are down sometimes. Cfd have no backwardation/contango. Leverage is huge in some countries (over 300 ...). IMHO: cfd are an excellent hedging tool...
