How to build a 16TB box for less than $5000

I debated raidz (RAID 5) vs raidz2 (RAID 6). I tried to balance redundancy with future available free space. If I had 3 TB drives, I may have gone with RAID 6. I have 2 spares (same brand, same model, new-in-box); I should have added this to my total cost. However, they are not installed as I...

How to build a 16TB box for less than $5000

My server is split into 3 zfs pools: work ( 6 x 2 ), media ( 8 x 2 ), and temp ( 2 x 2 ). The work pool contains my historical data and support files. I have been adding to my tick collection over time (now around 2.5 TB). Unless you are using tick level data, daily and minute take up only...

Anyone have a SPY algo running intraday?

Unlike time based settings, tick intervals have more variables when calculating. This causes discrepancies between feeds. From my experience, a tick interval locks you into a particular platform.

Anyone have a SPY algo running intraday?

Be careful with sub-minute/tick scaled intervals. They will fail to sync between platforms. Minute-based intervals are much more reliable. I know traders who like to use fib based tick intervals (89, 233, 610) and the charts they produce on one platform will vary to the next.

Software to construct a continuous contract?

I decided to code a utility myself this weekend; built in PHP. I am using a mix of volume and open interest to locate rollover dates. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Software to construct a continuous contract?

Thanks, I have used CSI in the past. I should have mentioned my data files are intraday (1 min). CSI is end-of-day only.
