    specs of laptop for trading

I’m not even convinced that random wifi hotspots are that much of a security concern. Unless you happen to pick a really unlucky place with some dude with his laptop in listening mode just waiting for packets and you’re not using SSL, and/or you’re connecting to some totally unknown...

    Operating System Choice

I never thought about this before – the Windows and Mac app stores do function a bit like the Linux package managers. Honestly, I’m not sure it really matters hugely which operating system you use as long as it can run the programs you want and you feel comfortable in it.

Emotions - How do you deal with it?

Yes, mechanical trading is easier than other forms of trading because it helps let us go of our bias and actually stick to a well working system. Case in point: a mechanical system won’t try and catch a falling knife but the human heart will.

Wall Street Journal: The death of volatility?

I’ve been noticing this as well. It seems like regular news doesn’t actually affect the markets as much as policy by the U.S. Fed. Everything else is like a blip in the overall picture.

Emotions - How do you deal with it?

This is true, all too often I think people are trying to control their emotions without being confident in their own trading method. If you’re confident in it, tested it, traded for a while, it becomes easier to be less emotional because you begin to have more faith it will work. The key is to...

Man demands in court to marry computer

I agree that it was only a matter of time before someone tried to make a point like this. It is impressive that the guy actually went through with it and really tried to argue it.

    The "Minsky moment"

This is an interesting idea. I agree with the three stages of debt especially. It would seem as though we’re back into the interest-only loan stage. The problem is that credit seems to have the capacity to expand to extremely high levels very quickly now.

Has the FED begun to fix the TRUE problem?

I agree StarDust. Marking groups as too big to fail is a dangerous game to play. The whole idea of the free market and a democracy was that if the people think something should fail or change, then it should fail. America seems to be going against those very ideals by putting in place certain...

    TradersStudio Blog

Great, I want to read up a bit more on the multicore version of Studio and try out some new things. Maybe you could do a post/video about strategies that are realistic with the new version of the program? I know some things before took a really long time to run…

Soon it will cost $1 million to go to College

The big lie that big universities sell is that education equals smarts. I know a lot of idiots that can get a university degree and a lot of brilliant people that hated school. A degree is just a measure that at some point in time you knew some specific knowledge, nothing more. I’m happy to...

    4K Ultra HD Trading

Is anyone else experiencing the 15Hz refresh problem? I could never afford one of these TVs, but it strikes me as being bad for 4K tech in general if this is the case.

    Stupid question

Looks like Wall Street is scared of the effects of this – the stock is down significantly since this news broke. Perhaps now is a good time to load up and wait for this all to pass?

The Largest Threat to All Goverment's!

I think this is a fantastic initiative, but I’m not sure how exactly it’s a threat to governments???

    Just Two Charts

Charts like this make me concerned. There’s been a lot of talk about the market having a correction, but it just seems like every time one starts it rallies right back up to the 16k mark again.

    8K High Definition TV

Any idea on when the 8K TV might come out? Or at this point is it all purely hypothetical?
