    Scanning for stocks

Hi Arnie, thanks for your reply. my platform has API. But it's not really extended only the basic stuff. Like last, today's hi/lo, today's volume etc. Nothing historic. But I'm looking for a piece of software that'll do this for me. -Dave,

    Scanning for stocks

Hi, do you guys know of any scanner that gives you realtime alerts when a stock goes up or down on bigger than average volume. Or a stock that APPROACHES 52 week highs/lows, not after it printed them. And a scanner or a good website that has the gappers for NYSE. Whether it's a...

You can check out www.nasdaqtrader.com to see when it resumes trading. Even when it's a NYSE stock. http://www.nasdaqtrader.com/asp/TradeHaltShowPage.asp -Dave.

    A Question for Scalpers

I thought scalping has a new meaning since decimalisation. Buy a breakout and get out when momentum goes out. Take MYOG yesterday (april 10th). The third three minute bar was a nice short at 34. For a quick 50 cent profit on the first half of the shares. And 70 cents for the rest. That's...

I almost lost my Shirt , trading today

Again. We do not know what your trading style is like. But you should be looking to average 50 to 150 dollars a day on 100 shares . And at least 10-25 dollars per trade. But of course that all depends on your strategy! And learn to scale out of positions. When it reaches your target, get out 2/3...

I almost lost my Shirt , trading today

I assume the first part of your post was meant for me?? I trade what I see, not on my opinion. And Yes I'm a daytrader. I don't care whether the market goes up or down. As long as it moves in either way I'm happy. I traded over 15 different stocks yesterday. Both Long and Short. I purely...

I almost lost my Shirt , trading today

Ksonsinc, it looks like you traded on your opinion. I do not know what your strategy is. But if you didn't trade on your opinion, but used your normal strategy. Then there's definately something wrong, because these are the days everyone is waiting for. And these are the days where you can...

GOOG: Which will it see first? $300 or $600

I couldn't care less. As long as it moves some way! But I'd rather see it going up to $600. Would be good for volatility!

Who are the "Big Boys" (Traders) in the S&P

Don't worry. I wasn't trying to let it sound like I was telling you how it works there. I've never been there. I'm sure you know what's going on there! I was told there were three borsellino's, but it doesn't really matter actually. They're legends, that's a fact I think. It's too bad...

Who are the "Big Boys" (Traders) in the S&P

True! But isn't that what happens in every market on every time frame. The big guys buy when it goes down, then buy it up, then the crowd comes in buying it and then they sell it to them again. This happens on 1, 3, 5, 30, 60 minute basis as well as daily, weekly and monthly! I guess.

    which broker to choose?

They are SIPC insured. But so was Refco. The REFCO retail customers got their money back, I'm sure. Send Genesis an e-mail and ask the about this. They'll be more than willing to explain you! Don't forget that Genesis is just a broker for Retail, Prop and Institutional. I don't believe they...
